Hello late-night people!

This question is for anyone that has dyed their hair a bright color (and it would help if you have dark hair). K, so about June I cut my hair pretty short, it was like halfway down my back and got these bright red streaks put in. But they only lasted for about a week, give or take. I went back to the hair place and bought toner that was supposed to bring back the color, but it doesn't. Now I just have my normal hair w/ just some light brown-ish streaks. The thing is I've seen alot of people that have dark hair w/ bright streaks..how do they keep them in? Any help is greatly appreciated!

i have dark brown hair and have dyed it white/ black/ red/ orange/ blue/ pink. over the years.

you need to bleach your hair totally in order for the pigment to stay put. and use colour-safe shampoo and conditioner. anything with red pigmet (pink/ red/ orange) usually lasts longer than, say, blue tones ones (purple/ blue/ green).
good luck!

I would need to bleach all of my hair for just making the streaks. That scares me. lol. Like what would I do w/ the parts I didn't dye?

no, just bleach what you want to colour! use foil to seperate the strips. but, i would totally recommend going to a hair salon to get it done, as they can treat your hari afterwards so it doesnt go all crappy and dry.

by "bleaching it totally" i meant the streaks you want coloured should be light yellowish white, so that the colour can bond properly...

There is a kind of dye that I bought at Wal-Mart that lasted forever and turned out really bright. The box is really brightly colored...You won't even have to bleach your hair which means less damage. :)

i'm actually in the process of dying my haor bright blue at the moment. i bleach my black hair to white then wash it out and add the colour, i have to re-apply the blue at least once a week, but i'm only dying a streak so its not too much effort
