Do not water the electronica! - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

(btw thanks iDan again for the modeling. perhaps the only really sweet element in there)

Lately...I dunno. Maybe I'm not putting enough time into this? Or maybe I obsess about details too much? (Which, by the way, would bring me back to the problems I had with elementary school projects)

I really have to thank igo2cario for all his support and helpful advice...I would've completely given up on my designs for ever and ever if not for him (and the powers of my procrastination skills). Even though I probably *should* have simply left my designs unfinished...Thanks =)

Shame, I thought it was kind of a cute concept.

^^ thanks. I should work harder on my designs though, this one didn't really have a good focal area or anything.

I should really study for my finals too (eep!)

Oh dammit. They approved it anyway, I begged them not to, I swear!

THREADLESS STAFF please please please...if you have any mercy please take this sub down! It's awful, and I don't want people seeing it when they look through my subs.

It's like the messed-up childhood drawing that keeps haunting you because your mom likes to tease you about the fingers that look more like wings whenever she feels insecure about her own artistic skills.

I'm sure it's no consolation but I'm right with you with the no inspiration / lost confidence vibe. Chin up, eh?

Thanks squirrel67!

I guess I've been feeling better, but it definitely doesn't help when the design you thought was horrible ended up getting a higher score than a design you had hoped would break the 2.0 ceiling. =P

At least the design is now out of the public eye, for the most part.

Sorry, I know this is way late, but I just now happened upon this. You're welcome justabean, really glad I could help - of course you shouldn't give up! You have tons of talent and you're still finding your style so don't be so hard on yourself. Try to think of your subs as part of an on-going artistic process. Anyway, I don't know why you're so down on this particular design because it has some cool, charming elements to it. As far as scoring goes, yes, you should be scoring way higher, but I've seen very talented designers get shockingly low scores and sometimes even dropped early so it's not always a true indication of talent. Your style is unique and challenging and sometimes it takes awhile for the voters to catch on. Bananaphone comes to mind. If you want some inspiration go back to some his earlier designs when he was just developing his style and you'll see what a rough time he had. This is the case with most of the designers actually, to one degree or another. Even the hyper-talented opifan had a rocky start. Hell, take a look at my first sub! And my other ones didn't do all that well either, just barely passing 2. Why do I keep at it? Partly because it's a good forum to expose my work to other designers and to get some feedback, but mostly I do it for fun, as a creative outlet. Anyway, persistence pays off, so just keep up the good work and having fun, that's the most important thing. :)

Aww =] thanks igo2cario!

I've been having a rough patch lately, with deadlines for some illustration things I'm doing and got put down by a really famous photographer, so this message really made my day. Thank you so much.

My designs

All about me
I adore sea hares. I love windy days, sunflowers, and ketchup. I have trouble writing bios about myself.

In short, a total weirdo.

That's really about it.
