You've probably stopped by this lil page at one point in time.

While it has some good basic information, there is a ton of new material that could go on this page that isn't there yet. We want to turn this page into a great pool of resources, professional tools, interviews and helpful videos for all kinds of artists.

If you could add something cool for artists on this page, what would it be? What would you like to see there?

some boss, easily editable, photo templates of t's and hoodies–it would be dope to have front and back, easily be able to change colors, etc...

I'm still rocking the TN Mockup Kit V2 from emptees, I have yet to come across a better (*free) one.

Feel free to think 'outside' Threadless too. How about tips for portfolios and resumes? Stuff like that?

Have you guys checked out the new submission kit? The flat photo templates are what you are looking for. The backside of a hoody would be a welcome addition though.

I'd like some in-depth info about the actual process of screen printing. The 8-color rule and sim process are some of the most frequently asked questions from newbies.

Awesome idea, Morkki!

MOAR SUGGESTIONS! (Let's keep the suggestions to this page, though!)

What about a craigslist style job board for all us poor ass freelancers?

I've been approached by people who have seen my work here, but it would be cool if it was somehow formulated, so say someone posted a job, people interested in said job could reply–then the person who posted it could go through profiles to see if they have a fit before even responding or checking out portfolios. Or you could recommend people, like alexmdc would be perfect for job 1, and job 2 has spacesick written all over it, etc...

There are a lot of great artists here–and it'd be cool if there was an avenue for us to make some $$ besides the t-shirts t'less picks up. Plus, Threadless could get a cut, like a staffing agency

How about a section for tutorials from featured artists? They could be set up like the interviews are so that they're static posts, but could be invaluable (especially to new members) to see how some of the iconic Threadless designs were created.

Also, maybe a little information on the business side of things? Rights management, taxes, professional practices - that sort of thing. It's not as glamorous as some other information but seems to be the thing that LOTS of artists need to know more about.

Or even some info on the technical side of things like how to properly separate colors and set up a file for print. (Which could make the Threadless art department's job easier too!)

I think it might be pretty cool if a design was close to being printed, but ended up being passed on, that the artist was informed and told why. I have a feeling a lot of high quality submissions get passed on for reasons that might be beneficial to the artist.

"Hey we really liked your submission, and almost printed it, but.... It needs to be cleaned up, fewer colors, remove certain elements, etc."

And maybe a behind the scenes video of how designs are chosen? If people are getting to the table and almost getting printed and then getting emails about why they ultimately weren't printed then the video wouldn't show too much. It might be a neat look into the brain of threadless which will help us artists (especially those of us who aren't printed) have some grasp of the madness.

Good one Resistance - doesn't happen often with me but if I get a high scorer that gets lots of positive comments I'd love to know exactly why it didn't make it to print

Those tutorial videos that alvarejo are really good. Seeing each persons different process or similar process is helpful to me personally.

I agree about the technical side of things, I have some knowledge of litho printing, but screen printing is a bit foreign to me. Maybe a tee-v episode/s showing the process of an actual tee. From artwork submission, screen creation and actual printing. Like "the life of a design".

I'd be happy to share any knowledge I have, though there are many more qualified than me. Something like "Ask an Alumni" for technical or design advice. Alva's tutorials are killer good, but maybe there are quick questions that people would like answering that sometimes get lost in the general forums.

I dunno, just throwing some ideas into the pot :)

Great ideas so far!

deep space monkey ... easily editable, photo templates
meaning layered psd files.
And why not an online tee mockup tool for people who mostly make tradi stuff and are too unfamiliar with PS to make their own clean presentations.

Rachel Ray Gun ... How about tips for portfolios and resumes?
definitely, also advice about the different kinds of websites out there for promoting one's stuff: blogs, S6, behance, linkedin and more. What they are and how / for whom they can be best useful.

Morkki ... some in-depth info about the actual process of screen printing.
Yess! including a not-so-often asked question about recommended halftone dot sizes.

Sorry - I should be more specific - alumniclub is awesome, but I wonder how many would be willing to put actual contact info into a directory format. Unless I'm missing that somewhere, it'd be awesome to have alumni listed alphabetically with email address, website, tumblr, flickr, etc.- available only to alumni

Some social marketing type ideas for promoting subs could be nice - maybe more than just "you can do this here" type stuff, but a bit more of an indepth look at how these places function. There's lots I don't understand about different social media sites, and how to make the most of them. It'd actually help a lot for projects outside of threadless as well, but also for promoting subs.

there should be a communal posterboard where people can post stuff

not like a blog, like Cloud but different.
it'd be like that place on college campuses that had all the flyers posted to it about art fairs, exhibits, shows, etc....
