Thank you threadless for printing this, I was shocked but very happy it was picked since it had not too many comments (thank you for those that did)!! Perhaps there's someone on staff that really liked it :-)

Maltzmania and Ladykat will receive a shirt of their choice, thanks for modeling!

BTW, it was said in another blog to describe the thinking behind this, so here goes: I just wanted to do something to give hope to the future by showing objects of war evolving into objects of peace. Originally I had no backdrop, but thought that a tree also could resemble a mushroom cloud, so I added the background and did gradients to enhance the transition, and give it a cut-out feeling with the other elements. I also originally designed this to split evenly in the middle in the hopes the zip-up hoody would be offered. The lines are there (to the dismay of some) for separation from a distance, like a six-panel triptych.

Came out really nice, Jack. Interesting to see it printed with 'gradient technique' I assumed it might have just been straight-up sim process. Looks great on the tee.

I can't believe this design got such a low score in the first place, but threadless obviously made the right decision in deciding to print! Congrats Dacat :)

im sorry but this looks a little too much like Alex Grey's Gaia Painting....

I've never seen that painting before, but this idea was first created with the planes, bombs, tanks evolution concept...the mushroom cloud / tree were just a happy afterthought.

This is one f the best t-shirts I've ever seen on Threadless - if I hadn't just ordered a bunch of stuff (twice!) i'd be getting this one in a heartbeat!

Too bad the photos make the colours look REALLY drowned out! Will be picking this one up a soon as I can (hopefully before the weekend!)

I have to agree to some extent with jriddim, the reference to Alex Grey's Gaia is fair. I bet Decat has seen the painting before even if he doesn't remember it. That said I think it's in no way a copy, nor a atomic bomb version of it.

Brilliantly done! I will buy it next batch I order, if it isn't sold out.

this design is so amazing, but it doesn't look as good on a girl fit... I wish they would print in on that paper so I could frame it instead!

I am sad because I wanted to get this for my husband but didn't buy it fast enough and it sold out. :(

ladykat on Jun 09 '08 at 6:31pm
I am also sad because it wasn't made into a zippered hoody, even though the design is PERFECT for hoodyness!

Yeah, I did design this for a hoody :-) oh well...

Hey recycleorburn, please vote at : Blik Threadless Voting if you would like this design on a wall...thanks!
