about House Salad

First of all, thanks to all the people who supported our design and thanks to Threadless for choosing it, it really is a dream come true! Also, thanks to Evan for coming up with this concept and providing me with great direction throughout this process. Working with such a threadless veteran was tremendously fun and rewarding! Collabs are a great way to get "idea" people together with artists and do something exciting, the future is bright for collabs! -Jack

The future shall will hopefully be quite bright indeed Mr. Jack! That is, if a collaber has as talented an artist to realize an idea as you have done to this project. Jack was continually giving me updates on House Salad and asking for any new ideas right up until he subbed it. His level of detail on the design is astounding (especially those "lettuce" grass blades), and his realization of ranch dressing went above and beyond the call of collab-dom. Thanks so much to him and to everyone who loved and supported this design when it was up for voting. I can't help but think so many people commenting that this was a sure-fire print might have pushed this one over the top at Threadless HQ! -Evan

A assume you guys enquired about the alumni thing.

Is it a policy of the artist only who qualifies for the alumni, or are you going to be joining in the initiation, FA?

Threadless stated that they are only set up to assign the alumni status for one person per submission, and since this was sent under dacat's account, it went to Jack. However, even if it went under my account, I would have insisted dacat be the one who gets the shield. He's such a sweet dude about the whole thing he even offered me a few of the alumni goodies when they are sent to him!

So, this gives me something to hard-core aspire to still so I'm okay with it, Fatheed. My new policy for collabs is if a person I'm working with doesn't have alumni status yet, then we submit it under their name. If they do, then it goes under mine. That's fair, right? lol.

i think you should get in the alumni simply for churning out so much brain magic, or maybe have a different kind of alumni all together, a brain trust to compliment the pen and brush shield!

hahahaha Andreas, you are too too kind! Brian magic! That's awesome. I appreciate the compliment, but I respect Threadless's decision right now...we'll see what happens on that front, but they have at least updated my account to have it under "my winners" which i REALLY appreciate them doing.

I'm just overjoyed at this being printed and Dacat making alumni status that he should of been honored with a long time ago.

roadkill, oh stop it you! lol. I haven't pestered you forever on the collab, so you better not be re-starting now! lol. Can't wait to see what you've done with the concept and the dozens of prints about to happen for you.

I would buy this if it was House Soup, it might be too provocative for threadless however.
