I'm supposed to make the cover for my school's art and literary magazine, the Avatar.

This is what I have so far:
Tentative avatar cover

What should I add?
It will fold along the middle, in between the hands ("taco" fold?), and I want to have a small cut-out area where some info will be printed on the second page.

Or, does this suck too bads and should I just give up?
Our meeting is tomorrow, and if someone else's cover makes it I'll be really mad. Because this is my shit, ya know?

I have no answers to your questions except this does not suck, don't give up, it's lovely.

(and by "my shit," I mean that I've put a ton of work into this club and kind of take it too seriously, I guess)

Thanks, you guys.
now maybe I'll go study math for a while.

I think the technical term is "hamburger fold" (vis-a-vis "hot dog fold")

Well, I lived in Oklahoma for a while so they said taco fold.
Due to all of the taco bells they have down there.

i think it looks excellent

if it doesn't get chosen for this literary magazine, hold onto it and use it for one in college

i know it is hard to think that way now, but the more people involved with the printing process, the more people will want to read it

sorry, should i mention that i did nothing but publishing in high school and college?
not trying to be a know it all, just letting you know that i understand what you are saying.

Thanks, Chelly! And I didn't take that as you being a know-it-all. I usually appreciate advices, hehe. :D

The club consists of like 20 people that sometimes come to meetings, and I'm the senior editor/graphic designer and more or less the president, since I've done more than most people (who still go to my school) in terms of contributing to getting the magazine out and stuff. So basically if I wanted to, I could overrule everyone else because my vote counts as 30.

[I am the only one who ended up submitting one, so I win in a sort of fail-ish way]

I want these to be reprinted;
Poetic irony
heavy medals

I love; bonsai, guinea pigs, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, the X-Files, House, 6 Feet Under, House, and The Office.
I hate being patronized, and I like it when people spell things correctly and use proper grammar. I also [dis]like summing myself up in a few sentences.
