I got a funny letter today.
what was this funny letter, you ask? well! it was a letter informing me that I have been automatically signed up for the draft, as is customary in the US for boys after they turn 18.

lovely! wait...this just in! I am not a boy!

I checked out my driver's license and somehow the DMV managed to put the wrong gender on my card. To the United States of America, I am a man.

update: I went and got a new driver's license on thursday. I am now a female again. They had me take a new picture and it looks like a mug shot. I need to call Selective Services on monday so they take me off the draft list.


also, I don't know why it took so long for them to sign me up--I turned 18 in May!

speaking of university, it's two weeks to yesterday until I move out. I still need to buy a TV but I can't find one under $100 since all they're selling now is flatscreen hi-def buuullshit.

Two arrested after using barbecue pit as a weapon
ALEXANDRIA, La. - A man and a woman found a new use for a barbecue pit — one that landed them in jail. An argument over whether a third guest should stay in the house got so heated that the woman picked up the barbecue pit and hit the man over the head with it, police said.

The man picked up the barbecue pit and returned the favor and hit the woman in the head with it, police reported. The woman then told police that she picked up the barbecue pit and hit the back window of the man's car with it.

Police admit that the whole situation was confusing, but after medics treated the man and the woman, they were handcuffed, read their rights and taken to jail.

The man was booked on a charge of aggravated battery and the woman was booked with aggravated battery and simple criminal damage to property valued less than $500.

I am in the early stages of thinking about getting a laptop. by early, I mean I have thought, "Maybe I should get a laptop."

I am pretty much only considering a Mac because I am elitist and fancy-schmancy. or because I will use it for design and Macs are super duper for design.

Anyway, what do ya'll use? I'm not looking for anything super fancy and I don't particularly care if it's only a 1/2 pound and two centimeters thick. I just need something that will get the job done, and also something that will make me look more hip when I'm on the train so I can feel better about myself.
