laptops ahoy!

I am in the early stages of thinking about getting a laptop. by early, I mean I have thought, "Maybe I should get a laptop."

I am pretty much only considering a Mac because I am elitist and fancy-schmancy. or because I will use it for design and Macs are super duper for design.

Anyway, what do ya'll use? I'm not looking for anything super fancy and I don't particularly care if it's only a 1/2 pound and two centimeters thick. I just need something that will get the job done, and also something that will make me look more hip when I'm on the train so I can feel better about myself.

I'm a PC girl. And prefer doing my design work on a PC. The mac just feels weird to me. Not to mention I like to do more with my computer than just design.. I wanted a comp that I could play games on too :P

pretty much any mac will leave you in debt for the rest of your life. you could get the same exact specs on a pc for probably half the price if not more.

yeah I grew up on a PC and I liked them fine...but then I was introduced to a Mac three years ago and have since become addicted. it's a cult, really.

yeah the price is scary, but I think it's worth it. Macs are so much easier to deal with in terms of design and general functioning.

I have a macbook pro; but if you're thinking of getting a macbook of any kind, you should hold off a little. I think they'll be announcing new ones soon. Which means you're either get a really good deal on the previous one or you'll get the newest one available.

Macbook Air is too thin, I would break it.

The only thing that concerns be about the Pro is the price--starts at $2000! The regular Macbook is much more affordable, but I am concerned about the 120 GB hard drive--is this adequate? I dunno!
