Elusive....
When I went to Tanzania two summers ago with some classmates, the one animal we couldnt find was a Rhino and even though our lodge was right at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro, we couldnt see the mountain through the clouds for three days.

Its strange to see both these images together now.

That's so cool. I went to Tanzania last September. It was the best trip of my life.
Where abouts did you go?
We went to Arusha, Selous, Katavi, Ruaha, and Zanzibar.

We didn't see any rhinos, and we didn't see any wild dogs, which I also really wanted to see.

I loved all the giraffes.

Thats cool! I stayed in Arusha, but we went all over the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangerie and Olduvai Gorge. Its absolutely my favorite place in the world and I want to go back!

When you went to Ngorongoro how were the roads? Aparently they used to be really bad and it used to take 4 to 5 hours to get there from Kilimanjaro airport, but now they have paved (or something like it) so it takes half the time so way more people go.

I want to go back too, but there is first about a dozen other places I want to go (like: Uganda, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, etc.)

I saw one lonesome rhino in the Ngorogoro crater. Ha just thought someone had to say it is in fact possible. I didn't see a cheetah though.

I talked to someone who knew a newlywed couple who were on a walking safari and they saw a rhino and then man climbed ontop of his wife so he could get up a tree first. She was really pissed off.

When I was in Tanzania with my dad, we didn't do much sightseeing; we went there to climb Kilimanjaro in a week and then get back home to school. It was a blast, though.

I've seen rhinos in Kruger Park in South Africa. Incredible animals.

the Kruger Park is incredible! I loved it so much when we were there. There was like a litle hyena on t he road and it would'nt go off for ages hehe. funny stuff....
