WIP for Small Planet. Help Needed!!!

Ahoyhoy all!

Here's what i've been working on for the Small Planet contest, but i'm not too sure which version I should run with.

Version 1 has full detail on the space suits, while Version 2 doesn't. Which do you think is best. I'd really appreciate your input. Thankys!

I think i like #2 as well- it shows off more of the landscape detail I spent so long on :)

Thanks Jemae! The suits I based these off were actually the 60's astronaut suits which were alot thinner. I don't want them to link too much to modern day astronauts though :)

Thanks man, Do the background landscapes loose too much recognition or detail on the first one (especially the desert)- This is my main concern about the first version.

i don't think so... because it's not like there are small details necessary to explain the narrative... i still understand that there are snow and mountains, and can see more than enough detail

but that's just my opinion

Thanks, I think i might try a third version thats a sort of in between version and see how that looks as well, but that'll have to wait till tomorrow, i'm off to bed now!

I like 1 the best...i dig the contrast between the detail on the spacesuits as opposed to what is behind them. I think it brings out more of the style of the design as far as spacemen go than just a blank suit.

Funny, when I first glanced at these I didn't notice the difference, but somehow liked the sub better when I saw 2. I think it's less busy and more appealing overall.

I don't really get what's going on with the background though - stars? city lights? Those tiny flecks just detract from the design, I think. Could they be reworked?
