I've requested alot of help recently, but I know theres some pretty sweet designers out there, so I was wondering if any one had any thoughts on a couple of my latest logos.

*UPDATE********************

Here are a few more concepts for the Visionaire Logo. I'd really appreciate your constructive feedback on what you think- Thanks!

Visionaire Logo Concepts

*****************************

This one is a very early design for my design company. The name and design is still a WIP.

Here's some branding type play-around for it-

Here's my next one. If/when I get round to printing some of my own shirts I was thinking of setting up a brand name. Here's what i've got-

Any thought on improvements and so on would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

that pony lightning thing is amazing

thanks man. That may end up being just a Tee design not part of the logo, but we'll see.

Love all but the last.

The last being the whole 'Epic Heroic'? or just the circled version?

Maltzmania on Sep 27 '07 at 4:53pm
if that design wins, i will buy it it has everything i love majestic pony's, lightning, pink/purpleish colors

The circle version, although that as a whole is the weakest one.

The horse lightning is amazing.

i don't like the brand "epic heroic" as far as sounds and words...

the rest is pretty sweet.

haha Maltz

Thanks Bramish. The cirle is def my least fav.

I'm trying to extend my whole designery ability- rather than focus on just ilustration. I know i've got it but havn't worked it for a while.

I know what you mean steve, i'm still not too sure about it myself.

What do people think about the name Visionaire for my design company?

i like the name, it goes nicely with the rainbow design. although it reminds me of taffy and i want to eat it.

Epic Heroic doesnt flow well at all, but the lightning stag is solid. Your Vis. logo is a solid start, but the inconsistencies in style (some rounded, some sharp) and width make it feel a bit smooshed. I hope that helps. Im not a branding master, myself, as typography is my weakest attribute.

Perhaps the way New Zealanders say Epic Heroic helps the flow a bit. Everyone i've shown here doesn't seem to have too much problem with it- though i do see what you mean. It doesn't flow as well as some other things. But it's not a final thing yet anyway.

Thanks for the help. It's much appreciatted.

Well I know many english dialects say "heroic" with a silent "h" which allows the consonant of the previous word to flow into a vowel sound, but its the redundant "ic" and increase in syllables at the end that throws off the balance for me. I find its more catchy to start long and end short.

generic example: Mebeeta Me instead of Me Mebeeta

I think you're right. Figuring out the perfect name can be a bit of a trial sometimes!

The other thing that has been mentioned is that the 'eroic' of the Heroic looks like Erotic at first glance which is kinda funny.

At this stage i'm just playing around with ideas, so i've plenty of time to figure something out.

yeah, a lot of it is also personal preference, so you just gotta go with your gut feeling

-The top most thing is rad
-Dont like top logotype, the curves vs the corners is not working for me and all the letters except the S seem to have a weird monospace width that freaks me out
-Dont really have an opinion on the poster. With the logo fixed it will be nice.
-The horse bolt is RAD. Makes for a cool looking logo. You might want to bump up the negative space a tiny bit, the detail will get lost when printed/displayed at smaller sizes.
-I like this lastone. O looks much too thin though and there are other little things that need fixing that I wont go into detail about.

It seems as though the Horse bolt is quite popular. Maybe I should work it a bit more to being an actual logo.

Great work! 3 is my favourite, as it best incorporates the 'Design Lab' sub heading and also makes for a cool arrowhead look. I also like the poster and the subtle hue changes you're used.

Yeah, go for the purple my lil' badass pony one. And i think heroic epic goes better than the other way around. But good stuff and i'd suggest your design company for a variety of designs for friends and other business ventures when you've finalized your brand. Lemme know!

I like 2, but I dont get where the top part fits into the equation
WanderingBert

You're right ste7en. I've basically decided to scrape that as part of the logo, and keep it as just the words. It just doesn't fit with the style of the type, as you said.
