So I figured I'd finally check this place out - the fabled source of all the shirts - and also take care of some errands on the way. Armed with my curiosity, intuition, Mapquest directions to 4043 N Ravenswood Ave, and the Rocketbird I wanted to exchange, I set out from my abode in Oak Park.

First mistake: Don't do this during rush hour. It took me an hour to go the supposed 10 miles.

Anyway, when I finally spied the Ravenswood Ave sign out of the corner of my eye, I immediately turned left into a tiny, dark street full of foreboding, worn-down warehouses with no doors, much less street numbers. A good 15 minutes and probably two trespassing violations later, I finally figure it might be a good idea to maybe check out the other side of the tracks, since there seemed to be nothing here. Sure enough, within a few minutes, I found myself on an open street was soon face-to-face with the fabled 4043 N Ravenswood. I saw the button labeled "106 skinnyCorp/Threadless", held my breath, pressed it, and...

Nothing.
I pressed it again.

Nothing.

When the hell are your hours anyway?

Nope, Ive had the same experience. I had to pull some truly Metal Gear Solid-esque moves to get in.

You know what, I'm going tomorrow.

Not only that, but the last time I went, they seemed way too busy to even stop to sell shirts.

Can't blame em, it looked hectic as all hell.

But it is kinda odd, you walk in and there is just a huge open space. I always feel like Im breaking and entering because all the desks are far away.
