Call me stupid...

...but i dont get STP's.

I get the concept but i dont get how the linking from another site works

i will make all my future purchases through the persons link who is the first one to explain it to me without making me feel like a total doofus

well, you can post the address on another website, or send it to yourself through email as a link and use it that way.

I think it will work even if you just open a new window and paste the link in, but I'm not 100% sure so I never do it that way.

if you click on a stp link that's linked from a threadless blog or profile, it won't work.

if you click on a stp link that's linked from a myspace page or another website (or just a new browser window that doesn't have threadless on it), it will work.

threadless decided to do this because some people were abusing the stp link system within threadless.

Just open up a new browser, paste the person's link into the address, and shop.

So if i paste a link on myspace and people go to threadless its only if they purchase from that session?

yes, I believe so. If they close the window, open a new one, and go to threadless, it won't be through you anymore.

yeah. if they close the browser, or go to another page and then go back to threadless, they'd have to go through your link again.
