indie eclaire on Nov 19 '06 at 6:24pm
I got excited at a cautionary song because I thought it was mariners revvenge...but they made up for it because A. the song was incredible and B. they did a live audience reenactment of the Boston Massacre

FIND HIM! BIND HIM! TIE HIM TO A POLE AND BREAK HIS FINGERS! TO SPLINTERS! DRAG HIM TO A HOLE UNTIL HE WAKSES UP! NAKED! CLAWING AT THE CEILING OF HIS GRAvE!

I sing this while walking through the stop&shop and often get very strange looks from passerbys.

i just got into CYHSY today. and i can't turn it off. his voice is whiney and it's hard to understand what he's saying, but its absolutley amazing.

I used to be incredibly anti-rap but my brother has gotten really into it as of late and it's ok for certain moods and its not entirely repulsive ALL the time but i dont think I would listen to it non-ironically or like on my ipod

Incredible.

I do not like rap.

Angels and Airwaves makes me sad because I am a hardcore Blink lover...and Tom just seems like an ass to me now.

And +44 makes me sad too.

I love Queen too.

A lot.

My goal in life is to hear a voice that has the amazingness of Freddie Mercury.

I saw Queen and Paul Rodgers last winter I think

It was very good but for Bohemian Rhapsody the band played with a recording of freddie and they had a montage of him singing

by the way: for clarification, when I made the comment about neutral milk hotel, i was responding to the CYHSY post, not rap

"live audience reenactment of the Boston Massacre"

This wording is funny. Wouldn't a massacre employ a dead audience?

i thought i was the only one who liked the hush sound. you rock.
indie eclaire
indie eclaire on Nov 19 '06 at 9:01pm
Phonographic sounds: the shins, iron and wine, the get-up kids, and freezepop are all good bands. I listen to Rilo Kiley occasionally, I only have one of their albums though.

Hadaloo: hahah. Well actually, everyone in the audience ended up "dying" but it happened, live and in person so I suppose it was kind of both at once. If i had said a "dead audience reenactment" it probably would have sounded a bit funny too though.

phasermuffin: I was going to try to get tickets to their winter tour but I was going on vacation when they came to my state, so sadly I can't go.

I've gotten really into "Castaways and Cutouts" latley.

There was always this element to "The Crane Wife" that was like Picaresque and something else, and Castaways is it.

Now I understand why they played so many tracks from it along with most of Crane Wife at the concert.

I just listen to... Well I don't know if you could call a few of them "indie". Like the Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre, Torngat, Wolf Parade, the Strokes, Interpol and yeah, Stars. All of them are Montrealers except for the Strokes and Interpol... And I live NOWHERE near Montreal :S

"Arcade Fire is good, the Strokes are good."

Sorry about the wonky grammar.

blossompossum
blossompossum on Dec 08 '06 at 4:18pm
Well, I heard of someone refer to themselves as a grammar Nazi, and I guess I fit into that... I'm really 2 years younger than my profile says ^_^ But I think your grammar may be okay because you're refering to a singular noun in the Arcade Fire and a plural in the Strokes.

But yes, that is the Stars that I'm talking about. And Bell Orchestre and Torngat play instrumental music. Bell Orchestre's stuff is more like that modernistic, dissonant stuff made in the early 1900's. Torngat is a little less classical-sounding. Wolf Parade used to be from the West Coast, and their music uses alot of synthesizing. If you've heard of Hot Hot Heat, one of their members joined Wolf Parade later.

Interpol just plays stuff that is supposedly like some of bands from the 80's, like New Order and Joy Division. Chances are if you like the Strokes, you may like them.

Yeah, so I'll just shut up now :D
