So, it reads Omega, Sigma, Lambda, Iota w/ periods (?. ?. ?. ?.) denoting it's an acronym, right? What is OSLI? All I could find was Outside Looking In, which doesn't even pertain to the subject matter. I wonder what it means. Any1 know? I need closure!

Z.S.L.J would be closer, wouldn't it? (disclaimer: Not a greek student! Learned the greek alphabet in 6th grade, but omega wouldn't be O. I'd think that much.)

No idea what it would mean regardless. Very cool design, though.

while omega is in the coresponding position of the greek alphabet with z in the english alphabet (i.e. the last), it does not carry out the same function as a z. it in fact makes the same sound as o. and i would think that outside looking in would relate at least loosely to the subject at hand: while the trojans in the aforementioned hearse are actually inside looking out, the theme of one party observing another from a mutually exclusive location remains.

The trick is that Greek has two "o"s - omicron (which is a short "o") and omega (the long "o"). I unfortunately, also have know idea what OSLI stands for (other than a city in the Czech Republic) - perhaps it could be Omega-Sigma-Lambda-One? (It looks like it could go either way - one or iota...)

I don't think there are any periods. It's just the lettering style.

So not to be offensive, but does it really matter? Possibly the designer simply did not know what the Greek letters meant but he did know that the Trojan HORSE was part of a Greek legend [the Odyssey/Iliad], so they threw in some Greek lettes, okay?

it is curious though

though the letters don't translate to this, my immediate thought was that it visually looks like "NEAT"

it could always be "HOSLI" too.... H is not a letter in the greek alphabet, it is considered to be a type of vowel (one with rough breathing in front of it). For example ELINAS is often how you will see Helinas written on hats and things.

Hi, I'm Greek/Cypriot, well half. I can speak Greek fluently though.
That would pronounced is (Modern) Greek as OSLEE or even OZLEE but it means nothing in Greek.

Btw Lunera, you are talking about Ancient Greek. In ancient Greek a "breath" prounced close to the english pronouciation ofr "h" is placed in front of some words begging with a vowel and is detoned by a spiritus asper/dasia. If you arr interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritus_asper

perhaps it could be Omega-Sigma-Lambda-One?

All I could find from a quick internet search on Omega Sigma Lambda was a student org. at Louisiana Tech. I don't know that that has anything to do with it, nor do I think it does. I'm just throwing it out there.

I'm thinking Craig nails it, it doesn't matter, it's greek lettering for Greek mythology and it's AWESOME!!!

Omicron and Omega literally mean "little o" and "big o" like the difference between the orgasms your girl has with you (omicron) and then with me (omega) nyuck! nyuck! nyuck!

Outside Looking In makes total sence, the soldier's outside the hearse looking into the city of troy. or the outside, or outsiders, are looking into the city while they still are (thought to be) remaining outside.
