Brief bio: I'm a 24 year old software tester from Northern Ireland. I'm an on-again-off-again gamer and avid anime fan. I play guitar when I think of it, and watch far too much TV considering how much crap there is on.

Anime stuff: I've been into Japanese animation since 1999 or 2000 (my memory is terrible), when Cartoon Network started showing DBZ here in the UK. Followed that fanatically until Toriyama ran the story into the ground, by which time they'd started on Gundam Wing and Tenchi Muyo!.

When I went to university I bought a region-free DVD player and started importing discs, but since the UK market started picking up I've been buying home versions.

I had a brief flirtation with fansubs back when .hack//SIGN was coming out, and again for FullMetal Alchemist, but I've not bothered with anything for a while.

And now the unpopular bit: I'm a dubbie. *dodges tomatoes* For the last two years or more, I've been watching anime exclusively in English, except where that's not an option (e.g. Gunbuster). An unpopular point of view, but if you still think all anime dubs suck, you either haven't listened to one in the last five years or you're too narrow-minded.

Gaming stuff: When it comes to consoles, I'm not exactly cutting-edge. I just got a PS2 about a month and a half ago for Guitar Hero, and I've been picking up the "classics" for that - Ico, Psychonauts etc. I just finished Canis Canem Edit (or Bully to the rest of you) at the weekend. I'm a die-hard Sega Dreamcast fan, hence my reluctance to pick up a PS2 until the price hit £50.

On top of the DC and PS2, I have a PS1, Gamecube, DS, Saturn, N64 and Wii, with the intention to pick up a SNES and MegaDrive (Genesis) as soon as I can.
