Vector? No Vector?

Hmn I've been wondering as I run through ideas on what to do next for a design... I've been wondering does everything have to be vectored? Some desgins just look so awesome but they look more drawn than anything. Unless they vectored the drawing and made it look like a drawing but really it is a vector...

How do you people design things ?

Well I'm "vectoring" in Photoshop. I don't think you can say its really a vector, but thats besides the point. Do any of you just use a tablet and draw into flash ?

i use a pencil, flash, photoshop, illustrator and a tablet

each has there pros and cons... photoshop is a rasta program, it's hard work but can deliver great textures, patterns, etc...

it is obviously better for non flat incividual colours but it can still be used well

Vector! I use macromedia Freehand, I think a tablet is the best solution.

i vector on photoshop and then transfer it to Illustrator so that it becomes a real vector. Im not used to Illustrator yet, which is why I do so.

it can be tricky if you arent used to it. I started on Photoshop for designing tees and now im trying to transition to Illustrator, but very gradually because I only have access to it at school.
