Only after I washed this shirt once (girly shirt) and tossed it in the dryer, the black ink has gotten "fuzzed" over. Is this normal in AA shirts? I'm pretty angry how cheap and worn it looks after only one wash... Our radio which I got in a guys shirt looks more resistant. I don't see any damage on the print.

it's sort of dull now isnt it?
Siye
Siye on Nov 26 '06 at 9:16am
yeah exactly... I don't see this happen to t-shirts though.. so I was pretty surprised. It's weird how the cotton has fuzzed over the ink when it was so smooth and dark new.

I never tumble dry girly shirts, as I'm afraid they'll shrink, but I think you are supposed to be able to dry them on cool.

You shouldn't have to not dry your t-shirt in the dryer.. that's just ridiculous!

Dryers kill clothes. And yeah, do it inside out. Mine was fine. Cool wash, as instructed.

Yeah well too late now.. but in the future I'll try washing them inside out... strange how I should have to do this when I don't for other shirts. But not using the dryer... not an option ^^;;

you need to hang dry these shirts. Never put them in the dryer and wash them in cold water

yeah, but for those of us in northern climes, hang drying isn't an option. Hello Michigan.

Can't you read? The inside of the shirt clearly says, DON'T WASH - BUY NEW. Marketing genius, I say.

well.. my main point, and question that still hasn't been answered... does this happen more for AA shirts than FOTL? I will refrain from buying girly shirts if this keeps happening... or is happy creatures just worse off cuz of the ink and the material?

Even hanging the shirt on a radiator or a heater thats on the low setting is much better than placing it in a dryer.

you should always wash them inside out. All of mine look as good as the day I got them.

so... no one knows the answer to my question?

Yeah my monster wash shirt did that too. It's just something with the black ink on really light (white or cream) colored shirts. It did bother me at first but then I realized no one got close enough to notice ;)

^ oh yeah I just read your blog right now. I'm sad. My shirt looks old and it's bad since it's like that ALL over the print. :(

I hope this doesn't happen again.

I always wash all my threadless shirts inside out in cold water on the gentle cycle. And I always hang them to dry since I don't want any shrinking. I did however put monster wash in the dryer as it was a size too big for me.

But I can say that the weird pilling didn't get any worse the more I washed it. Although the washing machine gremlins did eventually "get" my shirt since in it went and it just never reappeared.
