$10 Sales

So I'm kinda new here to Threadless - just registered last week, and haven't bought anything quite yet (though I've got quite a wishlist going!). From what I can tell, Threadless seems to have $10 sales every once in a while, where every currently printed shirt is $10. Nice deal - save $5 a shirt!

My question - how often are these sales? From looking at the blog history, it seems like there are maybe three or four of them per year. Sometimes they don't occur for 6 months or so, and sometimes they are within just a couple months. Is this correct? I'm making this assumption by doing a blog search for "$10" and seeing everything that pops up.

It also appears that the latest sale was just about a month ago, during August. Seems to me then, that by the time the next $10 sale comes around, all the currently printed shirts are going to be sold out. Based on your past experience here, does that seem like a safe bet?

I guess what this means then, is that if there are any shirts currently up on Threadless that we like, we might as well buy them now because they'll be all gone by the time the next sale rolls around. Am I right or am I right? or wrong?

there was just a "back to school" sale in august so there probably will not be another one for a while.

i'm relatively new here too, but the $10 dollar sales are a wonderful time.

yes, when there's a $10 sale, almost all shirts sell out that are good and the ones that struggled to sell out do as well. The only drawback is that the wait time for shipping is increased dramatically. The wait during the sale was as much as 12 days after the shirt was ordered, maybe even more.

thanks for the info, all... i'm sure not going to wait until Christmas, so I'll probably have bite the bullet and get some now. Of course, now that the weather is getting so cold, how often am I going to be wearing t-shirts anyway? Haha, I can totally see myself freezing my ass off all winter long in order to wear my threadless shirts. :)

you got it all pretty much correct. id say the next sale will be late november, as a holiday one, so that people can buy and get before christmas comes.

as to whether or not most of the shirts will be sold out by then, depends on the shirt, some arent that popular or arent selling fast, or maybe some will be available in only some of the sizes, its hard to say.

if you really want a shirt, i suggest just buying it now or watching the stock chart in your size to make sure it doesnt sell out before a sale. bu you cant always be sure on when itll be, btu theres almost definitely gonna be one around then, they always do christmas sales

o, and about the cold thing, they have been dropping teasers about hoodies or long-sleeves shirts for a couple weeks now, and so you may want to wait to buy until those come out (prolly in the next week or two)

Definitely buy any shirts that you absolutely must have. When I joined here, I waited a couple weeks to order and missed out on a slew of my favorite designs.

If you're not sure about dropping $15 bucks on a shirt, at least make sure you take a pic and submit it; then you'll recoup some of your money at least.

like amish said, don't wait on something you REALLY want. i made that mistake and missed out on a few things that i'd love to have.

good advice everyone - i guess I'll just go for it now. I feel bad going for something like the Dark Side of the Garden, since it seems like EVERYONE (on this site) has that one. i'd like to be a little more unique. but i mean, well, it's funny, and i like star wars. so shoot me. but please don't.
