I was there in July and Washington Square park was closed and under construction -- all the earth was ripped up and it was all fenced in. You might want to check and see if it's still the case when you go.

not sure on washington square park

go to columbus circle and tehn walk up to teh lincoln center where teh opera house is .. its really pretty

madison square park (not garden!) is also very nice

union square and gramercy area

if you feel like going into brooklyn prospect park is beautiful

BTW moma is kind of pricey and overall not too impressive if you want to look at a lot of art go to the chelsea galleries

MoMA is free Friday nights between 4 and 8

(and it's only 20 bucks or less otherwise, I'd say it's worth it, but to each his own. Chelsea's got great artists too.)

i hadn't heard that about washing square park... but it is right next to a theater we are going to. thanks for the heads up though.

maybe we should venture into Brooklyn? we only went about as far as Brooklyn Bridge last time.
