I had a talk the other day about web 0.2 technologies and i thought me head was going to explode. This is going to sound like i'm ancient or something..(i'm 27 btw, that may be ancient to some of you spry young things in here), but does anyone else feel like they can't keep up?
I just looked at my space and delicious for the first time the other day and i found it totally overwhelming.

If i don't keep up i might get left behind and then what will become of me. I saw something the other day about some internet site where you can start up a new life on the web, you can trade things and buy houses and land and stuff. Where will it all end!! Maybe i'll start up a hippie commune and lead a simple life.

I don't see the big deal about Web 2.0. Is there really any difference other than fancy graphics?

Web 2.0 is supposedly supposed to be about better, more intuitive, and more inegrated/interlinked online collaboration and sharing of data.

It's basically a bullshit marketing term for the natural evolution of technology as applied to the internet.

*sigh*

I obviously meant "integrated." I don't know what I was thinking with "supposedly supposed to be." That's kind of awkward.

Yeah i know it's me just being technophobic. I think what scarred me the most is that there was just loads of info about it crammed into a half hour talk and by the end of it my head was frazzled. I just find i don't have time to mess about on the internet (oh the irony) and try these new things out, although i don't want to feel like i'm missing out.

It's hollow marketing puff-speak for technologies that have been around, made to sound all new and spiffy.

I hate the way that technology is marketed.

its just new design techniques and maybe some new CSS/XHTML/Javascript/Ajax tricks. That's all.
