Anyone else sick of these submission cliches?
I've been a Threadless wearer for 3 years now, and while I love a lot of the shirts, I'm definitely getting sick of some motifs and submission content.

What I'm sick of:
Skulls
Roots going through the planet earth
Shirts that make the ribcage or do an internal view thing
Hearts
Guns
Wolves'/foxes'/jaguars' heads etc.
Artistic ladies looking pensively into the distance.

Hahaha, didn't realize I'd rile one guy up so much.

I mean, let me make one thing clear: I don't have an artistic bone in my body, I certainly couldn't design a better shirt. But many submissions that I've seen lately cut very close to things that have already been done.

I'm not questioning their artistic merit, I just think they're over-done on shirts or don't translate well.

Just my two cents.

it's true, a lot of things are done to death, especially zombies. i never get sick of skulls and robots though if they're well done.

2 or 3 years ago, there was another blog just like this -- and whats funny is I'm pretty sure the list was the same then as it is now.

Hahaha, so I'm not alone. Or at least I wasn't once.

Robots are pretty over-done too, but so long as people try doing stuff in different ways, it's all good.

I was scoring submissions last week and I saw maybe three different shirts that had a tree trying to bloom in a city on one side of the globe, the roots going through the earth, and blooming into a forest on the other side of the globe. I'm fairly certain Threadless has already printed a tee very, very close to that design.
