I think it is funny that a "secret internet society" is calling threadless xenophobic.

Seems to me that a lot of Threadless submissions have striking similarities to one another. Off center designs, strange colors, guitars, flowers; very indie art type things.

I beg your pardon? We're not the ones that started the drama. It was a Threadless regular that made the accusations of fraudulent accounts. Suddenly, there's all this hate out for LLers. I don't get it. The only difference between this submission and any other is that this one has the support of a community who's been long interested in the whole design.

Hm. Well, I suppose I should clarify, not -all- Threadless members are cruel; however, from what's been shown so far, they don't exactly seem like the friendliest bunch of people. So when the drama started over the validity of our users accounts, and the hate over the submission grew; what were we supposed to say?

The whole thing that some club thinks Threadless is a cheaper form of getting their shirt printed rather than spend some extra money at cafepress, disturbs me.



It makes the whole contest unfair.



What if, all of a sudden, one of the designers here gets EVERYONE on their contact list to sign up for threadless, vote on their design, and then everyone just abandons their account and the design they wanted?



Not only that, but the person submitting the design gets the prize money.



What makes me even more upset is the fact that these people, having just signed up, have absolutely no respect for the community that's already been established here at Threadless.com.



They say they're part of a 'tight-knit community'.



Well, so are we.

See, the thing is penny, is that your group of LL people have come here and shown little understanding about how and why this place works the way it does.



Sure yes, threadless is a business, but there is also a community. And if we were able to come to LL, and we started to use it as a means of furthering some threadless project, I can only assume there would be some kind of uprising.

Generally, how it works is, when you come to somewhere new and unfamiliar you try not to you know....change it? Generally, what you guys are doing is making complete asses of yourselves by basically criticizing the community. You know? You're not freaking missionaries.

Actually, it's not about the money. We figured it was an idea that was good enough to be shared with anyone and everyone. So Threadless seemed like an ideal outlet.



And for Threadless, this is a big introduction of new members. Or, another purchase from old members. How is that a bad thing? I think many who signed up will continue to use their accounts.



The Threadless community has no respect for the influx of new members, nor for the submission that they followed.



People aren't voting as a favor. They're voting if they like it. Lots of members support the project, so here they are giving that support.



However, the amount of members voting from LL, isn't a match for the Threadless community's numbers. And it's a final mod decision anyway isn't it? What's the big deal.



We're just a group of people who thought we had a good idea to share with others. Where's the crime?

i still don't understand why the "threadless only has artsy/pretentious/indie art" argument started coming up. i mean, if you really felt that, why even bother submitting? wouldn't you have not expected it to be printed here at all, then?
