Third blog of the day! Can you believe it? Shouldn't I be working?
I have two more days of voting left for my submissions to the "LOVES DISCOGS" competition. I would usually just wait until the last day, but I can't wait! So expect some bumpage! ![]() ![]() So please vote an drop off a comment if you can and I will leave one on one of yours. Also please give some love to the rest of the "LOVES DISCOGS" designs as those are about to end as well. Some stiff competition out there! Even though I would like to win, obviously (but I won't and that's okay, too), there are some that I would love to see make it through. Thanks, people!
This is in contrast to the other blog entry I wrote today.
Tell me something that made you laugh. A real, genuine laugh. Or even gasp, I'm sure that's close enough. I don't remember the last time I genuinely laughed about something in real life, not from a joke in a movie. I need a good laugh today. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SHORT PART --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I put in the short part first because I'm sure no one will read the long part. Basically, I'm really bummed out and tired of hearing people yell at me over the phone about stuff I can't really help them with. Please share an incident with me where someone was rude to you. It will help to make me feel like I'm NOT the only one. OR share something that will cheer up all the sadsacks on threadless today. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HERE'S MY STORY --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One of my pet peeves is rudeness. And I don't mean elbows-on-the-table or chewing-gum-with-your-mouth-open (which is admittedly kind of annoying). I work for a company as an intern an I have to take calls all day. I hate talking on the phone. If that's not bad enough, the calls I get are from a DIFFERENT department. Dept A takes care of "ABC" stuff. I'm in Dept B and we take care of "123" stuff. But Dept A is off on the weekends and when they ARE in, they are only available from 8AM-7PM. Guess who has to take their calls when they're not around? And the most frustrating thing is that their website promises 24 hour service. And they only give us 1/8 of their access. So basically people call here pissed off, wanting answers and half of the time we have to tell them to call back when the REAL department is in. Some people are understanding, but SOME PEOPLE ARE REALLY DOUCHEY about it. I got a lady who needed her login ID and password reset and the whole time she sounded like she just couldn't bother with me. Then she hangs up and she calls again ranting about something and YELLS at me for another 5 minutes and I literally can't do anything because I don't have the access to look up the information she wants. All the while she is telling me that her hand is broken an needs to go to the emergency room. Then she went, "Ugh" and hung up on me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I entered a poster contest back in October for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day event on campus and I found out in December that I won! I got $100 dollars for it. Or I WILL get it, anyway.
What do you think? ![]() On Monday, they were putting on a play written by a faculty member and presented me with a framed copy and a letter from the chancellor. Pretty sweet. They were also giving out these pins. ![]() Anyway, just thought I'd share. Also, please vote and leave a comment for these two! I really appreciate it. Thanks! ![]()
151 days ago, my last submission ended its voting period. Today, after checking obsessively for a week, my new submissions are finally up! Now I'm really nervous. I haven't done this in a while.
I kind of just submit two at a time, and then stop actively threadless-ing for a while, then come back and submit two more. I hope you enjoy: ![]() ![]() EDIT: "Beet" is not a misspelling. It's just a play on words, y'know: Beethoven, Beat/Beet, and God Save the Queen. I'm finally back! After my last submission, I didn't know if I was just disappointed or lacked motivation, but I stopped submitting. But for whatever reason, after I graduated this past December, I'm feeling like I'm back in the mix. I'm excited! I have two subs pending and I keep checking back every15 minutes to see if new subs are up. I've been doing this since I subbed them on Tuesday night. I need help! And a board game. A LOT has changed in a little time. I noticed that more printing styles have been introduced and more colors are being accepted. Is there anything else I should know that's new to Threadless? One more bit of great news is that my sole winning design was recently voted into a Blik decal! Thanks Threadless and the Threadless Community. You are awesome. about Grave Of The Fireflies
Yay! I watched the anime one, cried, and then let my mom watch it and she cried. Chutup. I'm allowed to cry.
If so, do you know why?
It doesn't have to be you, it could be someone you know. I was just thinking what it's like for people named Shakira. I'm not named after anyone famous, but my name rhymes with Madonna and we both have the same birthday. Her birth year is 1958 and mine is 1985. Hmmm.
What do you think of my pending design for Parappa The Rapper?
GULP It's also my birthday, today. Madonna was born and Elvis died. I'm just sitting here at work until 11PM and then I will just sleep and then tomorrow I have to take my dad's car to get inspected. Today has been sort of a bummer. I'm also curious of what you think of this one I did for GMail. I hope it doesn't put anybody off with its naughtiness. BANANA SPLIT/LOVE CONNECTION I haven't been on Threadless for a while and now that I'm back I noticed a lot of entries are really literal lately and don't take into consideration the actual theme, but the sponsor instead. If you like these, maybe I will be encouraged to do more. If not, well, it's been a bad week anyway. |
I haven't submitted any photos. I guess I don't want free money.
Amateur graphic design and filmmaking.
I've never gotten to take real art lessons or graphic design classes. Everything I learned on Adobe Photoshop, I taught myself, for the most part. Pret-ty ghetto, huh? |
