what kind of special settings do you use for your brushes/canvas?

Ok so I broke flash on my machine...again. The problem with it is that... whenever I convert an object to a symbol, be it a movie clip, graphic, or button, it disappears from the stage (but is still visible when I publish/preview it) I'm sure you can understand how difficult this makes designing, but what I need is some help finding a certain thread on a forum somewhere. I have had this problem before and fixed it based on the recommendations of one specific thread. In the thread it describes where to go on my machine and delete a whole bunch of blank files. I cannot remember what I searched before to find it, but here are some other pieces of information that may help.

I'm on an intel-based mac.
it's Flash CS4.
Yes I do have all the updates,
and yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled it, multiple times.

If you can find this thread, or know what folder I need to navigate to, to delete all the random blank (xml I think it was) files... I will love you forever/buy you a shirt.

I know julia and some other have done that. It's like the video capture tool that people teach tutorials with.

Eek. Tomorrow I officially accept my job offer at Fossil, for the Luxury team. I'm so pumped! I'll be designing everything from interactive to Point of Purchase stuff for Armani, Adidas, and other big name brands that Fossil makes leather products and stuff for. That's so neat!

Where have you gone when you are looking for a full-time job?

The reason I ask is cuz I'm about to be graduated!!! I had an interview today at Fossil for an internship position and I loved it there, but it's a long drive and I'm not sure the internship pays well enough for me to make that commute.
