I don't get excited about these things because they fuck them up so often.

My roommates and I will be watching the 5 good and season-appropriate Muppet movies in the days before we head off for Thanksgiving break.

So pumped.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I love the Muppets and I'm interested to see what they do with this.

The lead actress (well, the second lead, after Miss Piggy) is about as exciting to me as a paper bag, though. Amy what's-her-name? meh

But I'm glad Dr. Horrible Doogie's in it. Love me some NPH.

Disney didn't write it, though Leon. Jason Segel did, there's at least that.

yeah and i'm hopeful he's loyal to the original spirit of the muppets. he ought to be.

Yeah I'm super excited but I share Leon's doubts.

It's extremely difficult to create a screenplay that lives up to Henson's characters. .

Unless you're Charles Dickens. But even that one scored mixed reviews.

i'm trying not to get too hyped up about it, but everything I read about it (from early screenings etc.) says that it completely recaptures the feel of the old muppet movies and that it's obvious Segel is a big fan of early Muppets.

also i saw this earlier today and was like "oh yeah"

I want to watch that clip so badly. But then again, I don't want to ruin the magic of laughing at it for the first time in the theatre with my family.

Nathan, any chance we'll be seeing you Thanksgiving weekend?

I thought most of the Muppet movies were great. The only one I can think of that really fell flat was Muppets from Space.
