Anyone have any recommendations for good acoustic folk music or something along the lines of such? I've always been into this, but there don't seem to be too many artists around anymore (at least not too many that I can find.)

Here are a few that I've recently gotten into:

A Man Named Samuel (Southbound is amazing!)

Dave McGraw

Curtis Eller (Yodeling banjo!)

I lovelovelove Speechwriters LLC. They're more pop acoustic folk, but they're SO GOOD. And you can download almost all of their music free from the website too.
SWLLC

And The New Amsterdams are really good too! I've been listening to them since the Get Up Kids split, because I love Matt Pryor so much. I'm listening to them now!!

abigail washburn - great clawhammer banjo player and singer, plus she's beautiful, daisy may - tiny girl with a big voice, patty griffin - has a few strictly coustic albums as well as some that rock out, steppin in it - my absolute favorite band in existance, the mammals - pete seeger's grandson's band, the wilders - lots of fun based out of kansas city, chris bathgate and the hummingbirds - both based out of michigan

Anything singer-songwriter stuff would be cool too.

I'm enjoying those Daisy May songs right now.

p.s. Now that I've posted that link, I might have to take it down in a day in case the industry becomes suspicious.

Thanks so much Valor! This is just the type of stuff I was looking for! I can't believe I've never checked this band out before, as I've heard their name mentioned more than a few times.
