All the people in the bestee awards...
were any of them actually members of threadless? I know that threadless print many designs that are from existing designers rather than actual members of the site. Seems a bit suspect... someone correct me??

only the selects are famous illustrator and designers that don't have to be members of the site. The rest of them blog fairly regularly

even if none of them were members what on earth would that make you suspicious of? threadless can award whomever they want.
