it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I'm not particularly picky. We received it on DVD for Christmas and watched it last month for the first time. After about 10 minutes, my husband and I looked at each other, and I said, "This is really bad, isn't it?" He said, "I was thinking the same thing." We like Meet the Parents and even the 'stupid' comedies like Blades of Glory and Talledega Nights, but Tropic Thunder was really terrible.
Maybe I should wait until a day when I have to take Vicodin for pain before I watch it again. Then it might be funnier... I really did want to like it... I kept thinking I was just in a bad mood or something. But then when Brent didn't like it either, I figured it wasn't just me. Maybe we should've watched more than 15 minutes of it.
I found a couple of the Vietnam movie parodies humerous in Tropic Thunder like the Platoon "dafoe" scene or some of the Deer Hunter references. Strangely I found that I was the only one laughing at these moments with the group of people I was with.
I saw Tropic Thunder the other day, overall I thought it was pretty weak.
Some scenes were funny though, most of the Tom Cruise scenes and Jack Black tied to a tree describing how he would suck a guys cock to be let down. "Cradle the balls… work the shaft…swallow the gravy".
