Why does art need a point? And how the hell can you LIKE the artwork and still be tired of them?

Confused little chap.

amen to that- I get shirts that make a point- but some people just like to be artistic. I think its just a matter of taste...

Seriously....there were SO MANY amazing designs coming out of this contest, and the one they picked, apart from being kinda random and other problems alreayd mentioned, just seems pretty crudely drawn and plain childish. But that's just me.

Well... I agree. I really like funny tee's that have a definite picture. I want people to get my shirt immediately and laugh, not stare at it going, "Uh.. what is that?"

This one is less random than a lot of stuff. Its about looking at clouds and imagination. Pretty common idea for an illustration but I think it looks nice.

I'm right there with you. It's not a stand-out design, the colors are washed-out, the illustration isn't anything special, and the subject matter doesn't inspire me to part with $15.

Notice that it only got a 2.50 rating (where others with a higher score and better design got passed by).

To answer mezo-
Of course art needs a point. The point in most art is to express feelings and passions about things. I'm not gonna buy a shirt that has a bunch of weird lookin' animals on it unless I feel like it says something. I don't get that here, and its been the same with a lot of designs lately.
If you wanna buy something because it looks pretty then go to the mall.

Except that this shirt HAS a point. It's about seeing animals and such in the clouds...

But to each his own. If you don't like the shirt, don't buy it. Someone else will.
