Milan left me a bit cold, but Verona's lovely. Make sure you touch Juliet's breast. Venice is breathtaking in the early morning.

Bratislava was also a surprisingly beautiful place - it's very small, so you don't need a long stay to get in all of it, but the old town is full of cobblestone streets and narrow hidey alleyways that you'll fun exploring.

we are going to the Romeo and Juliet Balcony in Verona, apparently.

ah you seem like you've traveled a lot Krakaboom

When I moved to the UK years ago, I did some backpacking around Europe, so yeah, I've seen quite a bit of it.

I spent 3 weeks in Italy and loved it. Florence, Rome and Verona were my favourites - probably in that order.

I've been to Vienna and Krakow! They were both fantastic. There's a big market in Krakow that sells a ton of amber, along with other stuff. It's fun to look around even if you aren't going to buy anything.

Verona is beautiful, although you can see all that's worth seeing in a couple of days.

Venice is easily the most beautiful place I've ever been. Truly stunning, although I've only ever been in warmer months - around this time you may get more of a Don't Look Now feel!

verona is indeed one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, I lived there last summer for 3 months. venice is also worth seeing, but I wouldn't want to live there. and I love milan because it's such a lively city, with a good scene for the creative type (graphic designers etc).

usually when americans say they're going to europe, they mean only the uk, france and italy. it's refreshing to see you're going to east europe too! in my opinion, east european countries can be a bit gray and depressing in the winter but they're absolutely great in the summer!

I've been to almost all european countries but I haven't seen spain yet - maybe next summer!
icebar
icebar on Apr 09 '08 at 8:06am
yeah I think it's interesting that we're going to eastern countries.

about the batteries, this is what it says on the info paper:

"Bring a camera, and don't forget extra batteries and memory chips. These items are ridiculously expensive in Europe"

now, the teacher who wrote that is a cheap guy, but that's still what it says.

Have fun! Oh if you bring anything that needs to be recharged then you should invest in some plug adapters.

Good luck :) Change your dollars to euros now, dollar is dropping pretty fast and will continue to drop before Obama wins :))))

Oh and Italy is great for shopping :) especially Milan! Milan is much more industrial compared to all other cities you going to visit.
icebar
icebar on Apr 18 '08 at 5:51am

i have a lot of euros from past trips my parents have been on :)

i'm excited about shopping, although i know it will be expensive... can't buy too much!
