Anyone out there have a vinyl plotter/cutter?

And, if so, can you recommend a free cutting software for Windows (Vista)?

Also, do you know a good place to order cheap vinyl?

I have everything you need. Email me at ethanpressmann at the gmails. I have a really good program to lay out/cut with. It's older, but I've loaded it on machines as recent as XP sp3, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on Vista. I can burn a copy for you, and provide tech support to learn it, but it's pretty easy to get the basics if you are familiar with design programs.

It's called CasMATE (ver. 6.52) Pro, but it's hard to find info online as Scanvec got absorbed/destroyed by Amiable Technologies. Most signmakers I know love it.

It's too big to upload to mediafire (I've tried) but if anyone has a pro account I could do that, too.

wait... i'm confused. how does software work as a vinyl cutter?? i hired some local company to cut some vinyl for me earlier this year. i do not understand the technology.

It's basically like exporting to a CAD machine, just with a tangential blade in place of the pen. I should give a demo at the meetup!

Threadless may have their own plotter. They aren't that expensive and they do send out decals every so often with orders.

@sonmi, I just picked up a plotter machine thingy, so now I'm looking for software that will take my vector files and tell the machine how to cut them, if that makes any more sense
