Permafrost (just chillin') pollution
So I work at Academy. I was walking past our apparel section and noticed something interesting and familiar.

Now, I'm not sure of the legalities of all this, so I just thought I'd bring it up.

I'm also not sure who copied who, of course. I'm sure it wasn't a big sports retail chain copying a small, user-submitted t-shirt company (even though the threadless shirt is much cooler because it doesn't say "just chillin'")

This design is from 2003. What is the copyright on the one you saw? It is very possible for a large chain to rip off a small-time designer; How do you think they come up with most of their ideas? They hire people that absorb ideas from other sources and execute them in such a way as to make them easily mass-produceable. It, of course, could just as easily be the other way around. I am just saying that really, it is unfair to assume that the small-time designer is in the wrong simply because they aren't making obscene amounts of money. In actuality, it usually is the small-time designer's original idea.

Yeah..I'll check on that next time I go in. I wasn't just trying to falsly place blame on anyone. I was just "spit-ballin'"..haha
