Well, a storm blew in and my mom forgot to turn off the computer so it got fried. COMPLETELY. And no we are computerless. Before anyone say anything, I'm on my pentium 2 proccessor computer. Yeah, it SUCKS. So now, i really want to submit a design to threadless so maybe i could win the prize money and get a new computer for my family for Christmas. I have my design and the name, one problem, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO COLOR IT OR OUTLINE IT. I have a suckish Adobe photoshop, but I'll work with whatever I got! I've got some good ideas but its really stressing me out how I can't color my design. To tell the truth, I HAVE NO FREAKIN IDEA HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS. So, please, a designer, or anyone who knows how to do this, PLZ help meh!

well, having Photoshop is a big start. Honestly, you need to learn to use the Pen tool and it will be easier after that. I think there are actually tutorials on youtube for how to use the pen tool. Is your design already scanned onto the computer too?

Illustrator I think is better by far for threadless submissions. It's a harder tool to learn, but yeilds cleaner results. Photoshop is better for raster (pixel based) images. Illustrator is better for vector art (clean lines that don't degrade in quality as they are resized). Before anyone jumps on me here you can use photoshop and still make a darn good T. I just think Illustrator is more suited to the print method and color restrictions given by Threadless.

If you are going to use photoshop make your design in at least 300 dpi (pixels per inch/dots per inch). I know the minimum is actually 150, but if you resize your design at all you're screwed. I would (personally) go with 600 (cause I'm paranoid) just to be safe, but 300 is reasonable.

It keeps messing up my paragraph of text. I usually color my subs with Photoshop, so if you want a mini tutorial, email bloodstone_march@yahoo.com
