I may have to edit this blog later (since I can't delete it) but...

1) Do you think tshirts are appropriate presents for (male) acquaintances (from a girl)? Or should you only give clothes to close friends? Would I look like a creepy stalker?

2) Do you think this is an okay present to give to an aforementioned male acquaintance or is this one just a little TOO creepy stalker/strange message/you know what I mean right?

I know of course everyone's different but general opinion is much welcomed! Thank you! :)

PS. The stock chart is really annoying now, stop showing me out of stock things I can't buy! Sheesh.

I think you can delete this.

1) yes

2)it should be fine

You can also browse by size.

Oh, I can! Sorry, my mistake, thanks!

Thanks for the input :)

I am browsing by size (which I have to assume, eep) and most of them are Request a Reprint, argh...

I just found this:

Go to Browse By Size on the front page.

Scroll down a bit. At the bottom of the stuff on the right, next to the designs, is a Browse By Stock.

There is another Browse By Size that shows only what you want!

I'm a prude, and think this particular saying might be a bit odd for a guy to receive from a girl, and if I received it from a guy that was more of a border friend then inner circle one it would give me pause

I think in general, t-shirts are not a creepy, stalkery present.

I think this shirt in particular however could be taken that way. Particularly if it was a guy giving it to a girl. It depends how much he likes hamburgers.
sirensrising
sirensrising on Mar 19 '08 at 9:27am
Yeah, I think a guy giving it to a girl is a bit like, "Is there a subtle secret message here?", but then a girl giving it to a guy could inspire the same thoughts ("Is there something I don't know?")

I didn't see it was only $9, screw him, I'm getting it for me!

I just don't think there are that many awesome guys mediums in stock at the moment :( suggestions are welcome! I'm going to look through the larges even though I don't think he's a large...

I guess I didn't take into account other people's groups of friends. My particular group is always coming up with new and unusual ways to be inappropriate, so no one would think twice if I gave this to Bill's wife.

Your group may vary.

Also, my official answer to question 1) should be:

1)Yes. No. No.
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Mar 19 '08 at 9:44am
Yes. Maybe Threadless people aren't the best people to ask for advice on appropriate gift-giving. Remember when d3d gave that t-shirt to mezo?

What happened there?
sirensrising
sirensrising on Mar 19 '08 at 9:52am
Haha, new and unusual ways to be inappropriate...as it should be! My friends are a bit like that too, it's just that this guy isn't in my circle, he's just in my class. We talk in school but we don't really hang out.

I'll bump the blog rather than soil this one too.

i think it's fine, unless he thinks you're a creepy stalker. are you? hahahahah
sirensrising

Maybe I should get him a buttplug too!

professorE on Mar 19 '08 at 10:14am
That was beautiful.

My friends Perry and the aformentioned Bill and I were at the beach a few months ago, and at a bar we were at a woman and her rowdy friends were having a birthday party. One of the "gifts" was a butt plug. Perry made a comment to her about it, and she threw it at him.

It was probably funnier if you were there.

When I was having dinner for my 18th birthday, at the table right next to ours they were having a hen night, with a male blowup doll in the seat of honour (at least I hope it was a hen night). I wanted to get my picture taken with it.

Can anyone help me with sizes, by the way? (I can't ask him.) He's skinny but tall (5'11ish?) so do I get medium because he's skinny or large because he's tall? I'm so confused.
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Mar 19 '08 at 10:23am
I'm about that tall and skinny so I think a medium.

inappropriate with the appropriate people can be fun. My fave story is how a friend bummed money off of everyone to get her first car. A hundred here, a hundred there as she just graduated from college or whatever. We knew we'd get paid back.

I put in the memo section of the check, "for sexual favours."

Apparently, everyone else put something sexual too. When she tried to cash them, the teller called the manager.

She hated us all, I laughed and laughed that she had to convince a bank she wasn't 'performing lewd acts' to get the cash.

I'm 6'2", about 165lbs. and wear a large. I could probably wear a medium, I've just been buying large for so long that it's my default size.

lol @ littlem!
sirensrising
sirensrising on Mar 19 '08 at 10:31am
Is a medium still loose though? I think giving him a muscle shirt - whatever the design - would be creepy stalker by default.
professorE
professorE on Mar 19 '08 at 10:34am
Then I'd go Large.
professorE
professorE on Mar 19 '08 at 10:34am
Plus, there's probably more available in Large.
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Mar 19 '08 at 10:36am
I think the medium will still be a bit loose. I could fit into a small. I've been ordering mediums in the Fruit of the Loom because the fabric is stiff, doesn't breathe and the sizing is a little inconsistent so I'd rather know I can wear a medium than find it's too tight if I get a small. Threadless brand is better for me because it's cotton. I'm still a little confused about how they'll fit. I've ordered a few smalls and a few mediums during the sale so I can see how they go.
squatterjohn
squatterjohn on Mar 19 '08 at 10:37am
Large would be good if he was going to take the t-shirt's advice and eat a lot of hamburgers.

I always listen to my t-shirts.
sirensrising
sirensrising on Mar 19 '08 at 10:59am
Who doesn't? *has a communist party*

There are more designs in the large but I think I'll go with medium, if I get him any at all. It's so confusing. I think he probably already thinks I like him so I should probably just stick with a book or something.

Thanks y'all.
