Edited to add the newest, five-color variation...sage green:

The original submission is on light yellow (lemon/banana tee color):

Books Are Good For You - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Now we have light blue:

...and chocolate brown!

Because of the four-color limit, the pie is now pumpkin (yum) and the kid loses his rosy cheeks. This picture also shows the no-word-bubble option.

Your favorite?

Thanks! I think the pale yellow is my favorite too. Any thoughts on word bubble vs. no word bubble?

The yellow's my favorite, too! I also prefer the speech bubble over plain text. But honestly, any of them are adorable... I'll take your design even if it's printed in black & white!

I enjoy the speech bubble too, so hooray for your opinions. It was fun trying out different variations though!

I couldn't resist playing around with my design to explore the freedom of five colors... presenting SAGE GREEN!

I think the green is the best! I wish I voted on this when it was still up!

All the shirt colors do a fine job backing up

this great design, but I think the blue and

green are better since they have a cheerful

vibe which helps to increase the contrast

toward the brown speech balloon. I like the

idea of someone hovering nearby the kid

and looking down on him to be sure he

finishes that book. The speech balloon

accomplishes this. The brown shirt without

the speech balloon makes it ambiguous as

to whether the kid is thinking, "books are

good for you" or someone is telling him.

I favor the blue drink liquid (on the yellow shirt) and the white drink liquid (on the blue shirt) over the pink drink liquid (on the green shirt)

Helo, I like the blue and white drinks better than the pink too, but I was limited to five colors--if I used white (milk) for his drink on the green shirt, I wouldn't be able to use blue highlights for the glass. Maybe green or brown lines would work...I'll have to try out different combos.

I will definitely stay away from making his drink yellow though. I tried it. Looked like pee.

P.S. Helo, your analysis is perfect. It's like you read my mind! The only thing I was going to add is that I think yellow is more cheerful than the blue, but you beat me to it.

ooh, I definitely love the sage green the most! :) but all the combos are lovely!

I wish I didn't miss out on voting on this! It definitely would've been a $5! haha, and I'd totally wear it to my job at Borders. :D

Per helo's suggestion:

The only change is that he's now drinking wholesome milk instead of fruit punch/pink lemonade/strawberry soda/other-unhealthy-pink-beverage. Knowledge and calcium: everything a growing boy needs.

I need to stop fiddling with this design and submit a new one... once I think of a worthy idea!

The milk is better than Pepto-Bismol! If this gets printed (please?) I hope it's on the green!

The pink, green, and white all work very well together.
