Damn this sucks. Hong Kong is legally a country you know. That means I, or any other Hong Kong-ers can win the contest.

To the Threadless Crew:
You should add Hong Kong to the list. Would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Isn't Hong Kong technically part of China now? I guess it could still be a country... Like Scotland is a country in the UK.

Hong Kong is a SAR (special administrative region), still a country, but in 2047 end of the "50 years no change" policy and one-country-two-systems it will officially be a city in china.

There are many countries in Africa. Not just "legally" a country, they're countries any way you cut it.

There are only 2 sites for the entire continent of 54 nations :P

there wasn't any Miss Hong Kong... not sure why... so maybe it's just considered part of China..

I can't do the one in Singapore.. even though it's so close... cos I'm in Vietnam now..

Presumably they picked the sites, to some extent, based on the number of Threadlessers surrounding each site. That'll be why there are so many in the UK, but few in Africa.

The ones in the UK are at the extreme North or extreme South of the country, so 95% of the country isn't covered. We're forgotten!

But yes, to forget an entire country sucks. I've travelled between China and Hong Kong and I wouldn't go through all that Visa checking and bag searching and clothes prodding and stuff unless I really really had to...

@MeLa - There is a Miss Hong Kong, it's just that all the Miss Hong Kong's have been quite crap for the past few years. The most famous one around the world is probably Maggie Cheung.

Even if Hong Kong isn't a country, it's still a part of China and it has quite a lot of sights to see. Like the view from the peak, queens pier (?), the big buddha and others. the only thing in china is the great wall. that sucks.

there is no New Zealand and there is no qualm over whether we are a country of not. i figure they just want to make sure that all of the thumbnails will be done so they can be nice and extend the sale.
