These scores confuse me. Some of them should not have scored that high while others should've scored much higher. Is it opposite day? Anywho, I hope jrmasm's wins!

I wasn't fancying my chances with the high scoring subs above mine - but I notice that the last 10 'Loves' winners have all scored under 3 - so I guess these lists don't often account for much and it means the competition is pretty much wide open. Interestingly, the average score of the 'Loves' competition winners is actually closer to 2.5 - perhaps even less.

PS: That is a very rough glancing guestimate. x

fatheed, for the Owen loves competition, mine was slightly under 3... but it was also the top scoring sub according to montro's list. So in that case the list did account for something.

I'm curious to see what the winner of the kickin' it oldschool will be... I don't know if those will score as highly as the other loves competitions.

Thats true! I got my Party Pieces design printed the same week as your Owen sub, I think. Out of interest, did it take about 45 days for Threadless to contact you, or was it a lot sooner?
valorandvellum
   valorandvellum on Mar 18 '07 at 6:24pm
I think it took 45 days from the time the contest ended until it was up for sale on the front page. It probably took them a week or two after the contest ended to tell me it won. It probably varies each contest though, how long it takes to notify the winner. I imagine having to schedule a meeting with the special guest judge could be a range of different times too.

I bought party pieces for my mom because she shreds everything with her name or info on it. Haha!

"there's a controversy with Ambition, too"

woah i totally missed that one.

The controversy is that they took "clip art", compiled it, and then colored it in. A lot of people felt duped because they thought that person drew it themself.

i really like a celebration of discovery.

I read seed science for about 2 years and this seems to fit with the magazine best

It's funny that "Einstein Equations" had the highest score, because that's a pretty trendy type treatment in advertising right now. It's really not original. You can see the "type set as people" all over the Rogers ads right now (in Canada).

There are some designs on this list that doesn't deserve to be there..

And on the other side, there are some great stuff too.. I am putting my bet on Celebration Of Discovery :) ... Nice job man !

I am very proud of my Final score of Einstein Equations, but as Fatheed said, i looked at the other competitions, and the best score is not often the winner...that's good for the others, and not so good for me eheheh...Anyway, to answer to J-Ray, i am French, and i thought of it for Seed, i was not inspired by anything else that my Imagination (if you look at my gallery, i did a lot of Portrait, like the Hitchcock one)...perhaps it's not SO original, but the concept works, i thought of Einstein, who saw concepts, pictures, things in numbers and equations that other people didn't...THAT IS the concept of my drawing. With his own equations, everybody sees him...anyway, Good luck for everybody (especially Fatheed who is very nice, and who's work is awesome)

I'm a fan of Lab Partners. Splitting the Atom is fun as well. Most of my favorite subs didn't score so well, I suppose. But you never know what's going to win. I'm still sad that my favorite Big Buck Hunters sub didn't win.

Hey! Thanks Jebs! And thanks also to you other chaps who mentioned A Celebration of Discovery. Scores are out the window because it's anyone's guess when it comes to the Loves competition. To be honest, I'm pretty confident that the winner would have been contacted by now.
Jebs
   Jebs on Apr 12 '07 at 6:47am
the winner would have been contacted? hmmm, maybe, but look at Josh Ritter...still not available, even if the contest ended Feb 15 ;-) So, let's hope! My top 3: 1-Einstein (of course) 2-Celebration of dicovery 3- Facts are the air of scientists. If it isn't one of these 3...it will be a deception.

I think "Update me" is probably the best of the bunch as far as the theme goes. So my money is on that one. However, I think we ought to see at least 3 or 4 of those designs printed eventually. New ways of communication in particular...
