I don't know yet. It isn't activated right away. They try to make sure you're really going to stick around before giginv you your discount because, you know, a personality test, 3 interviews, and a drug test aren't enough.

Best Buy camera department people have always been really mean to me. I went to buy my parents a camera for Christmas last year and when I told the guy that I didn't want to buy the really expensive high-end camera (because my parents don't need a professional digital camera for crissakes) he was like, "Oh well whatever man. So give your parents a shitty camera, see if I care."

I was like, don't try to guilt trip ME dude.

my brother used to work at circuit city - somedays it was his job to go over and spy on best buy - someday you may have to do the same (but in reverse)

Yeah, my friends that work at best buy have told me that people from circuit city go there all the time and offer employees jobs and better pay. It's pretty funny.

A couple of my buddies work at best buy. For them they get things at cost + 10%, but only after a 3 month probationary period.

One of them came from circuit city.

Hahah. Actually, they made it much harder on me with the interviews because he works there. Like, one of them asked me if I'd tell on him if I saw him stealing, and she would not drop the subject.

I think that's pretty standard. I had applied a while back and that was one of the things they asked (answer is always tell on them or whatever).

It was like:

Would you report it if you saw a co-worker steal some batteries?

What about some headphones?

No no, she was like "How long have you been dating Jonathan?" "3 years" Then she plotted for a while, and then "Okay, so you're helping out a customer, and you see Jon pick up a CD and walk out, he got away with it, you finish helping your customer, what do you do?"

"I guess I'd tell on him but he wouldn't steal"

"You'd tell on your boyfriend"

"yeah?"

"of 3 YEARS??"

"yes"

"you know he'd get arrested.."

..and so forth. She was very scary.
