Ugh...why are people so evil?

I just found out this kid that lives a block away from me that I went to school with...his dad was shot and killed. Their family owned a great middle eastern restaurant in Merrillville Indiana called Aladdin Pita, and his dad was shot at work when he was there early alone.

Why does crap like this happen? I seriously don't understand sometimes...

I think it's best that we don't understand why this stuff happens. It's a dependable way to tell just how truly sane we are.

They suspect robbery, but they're not ruling out hate crime (the family is muslim)

People are horrible sometimes. Luckily there are enough lovely ones for me to still have faith in the human race. But it is hard sometimes.

Here's the official news story for anyone who cares.

Five kids and some grandchildren. I knew the two youngest boys. One was in my grade, the other was a year younger (he's a senior in high school now).

And on a side note, their restaurant really was great, it was getting so famous in the area, I hate to see it's business sink because of this incident...that would just add insult to injury

oh man. I don't understand people either. There are great people in this world and there are horrible people in this world. Things like that bring attention to the latter and make you question humanity. It's just sad.
