Ohh I haven't listened to Yusuf Islam's new album. Cat Stevens is amaaaazing. I remember listening to his Islamic songs as a kid...his old stuff is much better. :)

Huda, his album is amazing, I highly recommend it. I didn't think I would like it at first because he has sort of stuck to his Cat Stevens sort of style of singing (which I don't usually listen to) but its actually really good.

I am really happy that Omair mentioned Marquee Moon.

In the past two weeks I have rediscovered some old favorites:

XTC - Skylarking
Lou Reed - New York
ELP - Brain Salad Surgery
The Feelies - Only Life
Sex Pistols - The Great Rock and Roll Swindle
Love and Rockets - Express
Colors - movie soundtrack

I have a lot of early influences on my musical taste. My mom, then my uncle (11 years younger), then my sister (11 years younger still).

i'd have to agree with Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. i still maintain that it may be one of the best albums written...ever.

Peaches
