I love literature, but hate Shakespeare (blasphemous!).

Anyway, so what about T. S.? Sylvia? Hey, I'm sure they hate your emo poetry, too.

yeah, but "T.S. Elliot hates your emo poems" wouldn't sell very well.
Rock Deputy

obviously, Shakespeare is the biggest "household name" poet.

Mmmm, yes, but think of the subtlety! :)

Besides, what's more hardcore than wearing a shirt that says "Plath hates your emo poems?"

subtlety doesn't sell shirts... at least, not many of them. you do, however, get extra points for name-dropping poets.. are you an English major?

Plath's poems are pretty emo, come to think of it.

Dickenson LOVES your emo poems!

Not an English major, no. Not even out of high school yet. But when I leave, it's chem all the way.

I just read, and read often. My favorite writer's Bradbury, but he doesn't fit in with the theme.

lemonalle: Exactly! Emo-on-emo action is most amusing. ;)

Betcha Woolf would work nicely, too. But your average Joes would bother you constantly when you wear it: "Hey, buddy! 'Wolf' is spelled W-O-L-F. One O. Hope ya got a discount since your shirt's messed up."

T.S. Elliot is a fuckhead. What a pompous ass.

ForeverDcember: H*ll yes.

tracerbullet: I have to give him props for seriously affecting me with "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" (about which Tori Amos wrote a song). But he's overquoted, I'll give you that.

I really wanted something more emo-- like Poe hates your emo poems, Johnny Depp... or something.

tracerbullet: Why, thank you.

...

I haven't listened to anything of hers in forever (except for some Strange Little Girls, but does that even count?); I suppose I just haven't been in the mood. Fiona Apple's filling in the void nicely, though.

lookpolish: Where does one find such Na merch? My wardrobe could use a chem makeover.

Crap, I can't remember where I got it! I've had it for several years. I'm pretty sure there are online stores where you can get any element on a shirt, though.

I also have this shirt.

What does Depp have to do with famous litterateurs?

wullagaru: I am very peeved that there are major textbook publishers in the US that allow "e. e. cummings" to be capitalized in the literature texts they push. For shame.
