I just got back from watching Little Miss Sunshine (the actual movie) last night, and it was great. I think it was one of the better movies I've ever seen.

The characterizations were just fantastic. Each one was a misfit in some way, but they were played so well that you could find something to relate to in each of them. The message was great (well, except for Grandpa's), and I was laughing hard the whole way. The ending scene is about the funniest thing I've ever seen on film.

Anyone else catch this movie yet? I think I may even go see this one again.

Okay! I've had some good learning experiences with my first submissions here on Threadless. I'm interested to see how my other designs end up scoring!

In the meantime, I was having so much fun I drew this image over the last two days and submitted it today. The only think I wonder about are the different colors of the biker and his bike silhouette. I drew them that way to help me keep them separate in Illustrator, and then when I was done, I decided to keep them different colors after all.

I'm especially proud of my little bunny.

I'd love your thoughts! Hopefully you'll see this up and running in 4-8 days!

By the way, I'm finding that I have to index my .gif submission files down pretty small to get these files under the 120k limit. On this one I had to use only 85 colors. Are you doing the same? Any other tips to get the .gif file size small? I'm using GIMP 2.2 to import my Illustrator file, cropping and resizing it down to 640 x 480, and then indexing the file before saving it.

All right. My next submission for the "hellogoodbye loves..." contest has been submitted. Totally new graphic design here that should work very well. Hopefully this isn't rejected as a minor "resubmission!" What do you think?

Hopefully it will get through! (And help improve my karma)

Mea Culpa! In designing my submission for the "hellogoodbye loves..." contest, I used another dinosaur design as a reference when building my ZombieAlienVampireDino. The design must have been way too close to the original, and raised some eyebrows.

Frankly, I have to agree. Especially when the dino I worked from came from another T-shirt design. I feel pretty crummy about it.

So what to do? I'm working on an entirely new ZombieAlienVampireDino, using no previously created dinosaur image other than some museum photos for references. I should be done with this design very soon. It's too bad that I've put this black mark on my design already. Will this new one make up for it? How poorly will a "redesign" fare when I resubmit it? Who knows.

So at least for my own good karma I'll put the more original design up there.

I'm working on another shirt, too. This is really bringing back some great memories of my early design days, and I'm glad to have some fun exercising my artistic skills rather than just playing around with typesetting!

Check out "Zombie Alien Vampire Dinosaur" in the "hellogoodbye loves..." contest. I made it past the censors, and it's up and ready for voting. Initial comments seem positive, so that is very encouraging.

There are a lot of great T-shirts out there, so I'm interested to see how this fares against some great competition.

I'm biting my nails today, because instead of just tossing out commentary, I actually put a T-shirt design together for the new "threadless loves" contest. Hopefully it will be received well!

I worry about originality. I'm seeing a lot of other designs that are "Vampire Alien Zombie Dinosaurs," but hopefully I'll present it in a unique style. We'll see.

I'm enjoying the community. I love looking at the designs and appreciate the inspiration they provide. Cool stuff.
