We had to put down our family dog of 14 years today. He was such a great dog. I'm half-way across the country at school right now, and its so hard to not have been able to be with him.
I know a lot of you have dogs, and you know how awesome they are, and how much it can suck to lose a fuzzy best friend. I think I'm going to make some tea and try to cheer myself up :/
As I was driving at 6am for my flight back home to chicago this morning, I was on I-95 and some douche in an SUV pulled into my lane too close and knocked the front of my car, which made me swerve and hit the barrier :( :(
I'm okay but the front end of my car is all smashed and I missed my flight home for the holidays, and now I have to get this car business figured out....and I'm not sure whether I'll be able to get another flight home. whattacrapshoot! I hope your holidays are starting better than mine :/
So I totally just had lunch with the members of the Decemberists.
:D They are playing a show tonight at my university, and I work lights, and the band invited the crew to chill out and have lunch. It pretty much made my week.
So its my friend's birthday next week, and I really want to buy her tickets to her favorite band's concert in november.
However the tickets are wicked expensive, so getting her two tickets (so she could go with someone) are a little out of the price range. Would you think it was lame if someone just got you one ticket to a concert? Like, what if you couldn't find anyone else to go with? Would that be weird? birthday present fail. :/
So I always feel bad for my mailperson, because my house is always dead last on his route and he has to trudge through Chicago weather on new years eve just to give me my heating bill and Discovery Magazine.
So I wrote him a nice card and slipped a twenty in there and put it in the mailbox for him, and he ended up ringing the doorbell and hugging me. I was maybe 8% creeped out, but 92% really happy I made his day. Yay! I urge all of you to do something nice for someone even if they are a stranger. Holidays are so fun, whee! TEXT |
