Is anyone watching?

Anyone got any predictions? Australia looked really good against NZ in the final tri-nations game...

My god, England look shite.

According to my facebook, England beat Argentina, but people don't seem to be all that pleased about it.

We've got to win this thing. Seriously. There's been so much fuss that if we don't win the entire country will sulk unbearably.

If all goes to plan, New Zealand will, most likely, have an incredibly easy run of the finals, so they probably won't choke this time. They won't even have to face France.

Australia vs New Zealand final. Home ground advantage will probably favour them.

I want to watch it but don't have the tv-channel :(

Feels good that NZ don't have to meet France!

SJ27 on Sep 10 '11 at 7:22am
They're in the same pool as France, so they will have to play them, but only in the pool stage so it's not as important. I might be wrong, but I don't think France has ever lost to NZ in a world cup and that has usually meant they end up knocking them out. But I am fully expecting New Zealand to win the pool match against France and then top the pool.

Ugh, worse than simply not having the TV channel, is when you do but that channel is also showing the rugby league finals. Manly just knocked out North Queensland, 42-8, so awesome. But they're only just starting to show the England Argentina match now. I know the result, because I have this thing called the internet now. They could have at least put one on the hi-def channel, but they were showing CSI Miami repeats instead.

Australia v Italy.

You can see the uprights swaying in the wind. Australia came out all rugged up in jackets and the Italians are just in their uniforms. Rain on the camera lenses.

can't wait to watch the ireland usa match but it's not on here, for free, until tomorrow morning so i'll wait. i miss rugby so much, every four years.
new zealand, until their loss to australia to lose the tri nations has been paces ahead of australia and they've both been in a different league compared to south africa, this past summer. i understand the preparation involved and that's why i didn't mention nz's loss to sa in sa. that was nz's second team, essentially and they still hung in their with, what i bet, is going to be at least 90% of sa's starting squad.
that being said, it seems almost every wc year nz is the favorite and/or is playing out of their skins at that time and they've only bagged one ellis trophy. australia, in my opinion, is the hottest team right now, soaring with that awesome win over nz. they switched skippers at the right moment and did it the right way and they have quade cooper who is the most magical player on the planet right now, most of the time. lastly, robbie deans. a winner from a family of winners; great coach.

Australia is playing atrociously today. Just gifted the Italians 6 points to go into half time 6 all.

OMG, finally some flair! FIrst half when they got the ball they just didn't know what to do with it, but if they can run and pass like that for a whole game they can win the World Cup.

Kicking needs some improvement. Wind might be to blame.

Adam Ashley-Cooper had a rotten first half but he just scored! And C'Connor converted. Real momentum now, they're a different team.

Pool stages are over and thanks to Australia effing it up against Ireland, the first two quarter finals involve all European teams and the winners of those play each other in the semis and the next two quarter finals involve all Southern hemisphere teams awith the winners of those to play each other in the semis. It's going to be a North vs South final.

Everyone here is freaking the hell out because Dan Carter pulled a muscle in his groin or something.

I do feel pretty sorry for him though, poor guy.

Yeah that's sad. He did it in kicking practice too, not even in a game.

i wish SA would get to the final, but it's more likely that NZ will proceed through. they have homeground advantage, its almost obligatory for the hosts to be in the final at least... SA vs NZ is gonna be a cracker! the 2 top teams from the pool matches

so gutted for dan carter. he's been playing out of his shirt since his return...what a terrible blow.

last world cup, all the pool matches were on Setanta and it was so much easier to keep up. I can't imagine the IRB is raking in money PPV'ing every pool match. fucking crooks.

anyway i'll do some research today and comment back but my money is still on NZ even without the killer 10.

crazy how USA knocked a few Aussie's out of that match ;O

I was at a wedding so I didn't see either game. The groom's dad is rugby mad. I don't know if it's true cos I don't know when they set the date, but his excuse was "We were supposed to beat ireland, we were supposed to be playing yesterday." Anyway, we all had to follow along on our apps.

We listened on the radio in the car on the way to the reception between 8-6 and 8-9, hearing the drop goal get scored, then we faintly heard O'Connor score the winning penalty with the radio all fuzzy in the underground carpark at the restaurant to get us back in front.

We followed the New Zealand game on the app in the restaurant. I don't think we could possibly beat them by the sounds of how we played tongiht, but by the sounds of things NZ didn't play great either. Regardless, I know both teams will lift though.

aus v nz will be very, very interesting.

australia won by having less possession, less territory, making almost 3x as many tackles but seizing their opportunities.
nz won, by basically out-toughing the argentinians. all blacks lost colin slade who's their back up (wayyyy back) #10 and so they brought this kid in who looks like he should be playing age groups.
no matter though because the all blacks simply had too much for the argentinian defense, which was rather stout, in my opinion.

im most impressed with Wales and especially their backs. they are dynamic, quick and singular. their #12 is a BEAST.

should be good matches next weeknd
