I don't know if many Americans will get it. The game is called "Chutes and Ladders" over here, but I'm lucky enough to have an English mom, so I know it's called "Snakes and Ladders" in other places (or at least in England).

Well, it really doesn't matter, because as has been stated many times and scientifically proven, the world does not revolve around the United States. And some might get it; maybe I'm just ignorant and the game also goes by the name "Snakes and Ladders" here.

Well, whatever. I still love the snake eating the kid.

We Americans know it as Snakes and Ladders too. Indeed, the world doesn't revolve around us. Point taken?

I know it as snakes and ladders. I would get the joke if I saw a ladder.

If I had a dollar for how many times I heard "The world doesn't revolve around the U.S." I would have healthy bundle of money which I could then invest.

The world revolves around the sun....

geez why are you being so holier-than-thou about snakes and ladders? it's not like it's a sofia coppola movie or something.

i have to go hide under a rock now because my spoiled overprivileged american childhood didn't teach me all the facts of the universe.

i just have one thing to say...the ladders are green and the shirt is green, and that is terrible. the ladders just blend in with the shirt.

I find it annoying that people keep on saying "The world does not revolve around America" OKAY POINT TAKEN i've heard this about 1000 times great. Oh and uh in Africa they've never heard of the game period..but the world doesn't revolve around Africa does it?

watch this american school ya: snakes and ladders is played with a die and chutes is played with a spinner. that's about the only difference. it originated in England but they got it from India where it was about Spiritual Ascension or Enlightenment or Goodness or Heaven (ladders) and The Descent into Darkness or Ignorance or Evil or Hell (snakes). English people think they're vastly superior to Americans- why do half of you live here then?

Okay, okay. Point taken.

Sorry, I didn't know people called in Snakes and Ladders here too. Sometimes I don't know whether things are just different terms or pronunciations in England and America or if it's just that what I've heard from my family conflicts with the rest of my isolated bubble.

And it doesn't help that my dad speaks Pennsylvanian and I live in Texas so I don't know how people in other places across the U.S. refers to certain things.
