If you'll be in NYC on Thursday whenever or Friday during the day with any interest of meeting up or eating cupcakes or whatever, what is your cellular telephone numbers? rlfielding at gmail or aim or the book of phaces or whatever
everyone can answer these... through what dimension I should contact you through telepathically? your favorite kind of cupcake or comic book, what are they? if you wore a mask, what kind of mask would it be? would you be creeped out if your refrigerator's exterior was human skin?
my next STPs (probably tomorrow) will go to the first person to guess what beer I'm drinking. Two guesses per person.
Also, if you want to recommend beer to me, future STPs if I like it. ----------------------- Chris won with the answer of Newcastle.
anything worth seeing?
other than the dark knight, which I'm planning on seeing next week. ------------------ I saw Encounters at the End of the World, which was quite good. Documentary by Werner Herzog on Antarctica.
that WanderingBert had this sexy print over yonder a while back...
![]() that I would end up really liking Will Oldham/Bonnie "Prince" Billy if I gave him a chance (right click, save as, if you want them) you want that picture so everyone easy does it that it would be so hard to find a writer's work I like anywhere close to as much as I like Salinger... that I'd end up less depressed as a loner than when I had a circle of friends that it may be impossible to drink in enough of the outdoors or the moon or the city to feel you've really lived it. how oddly peaceful thunder in the summer can be... ...and yourself?
So I just received a HUGE box of damaged shirts from Threadless for the Bloggeraiser, which means they'll all be sold to raise funds to send a blogger to the Chicago meetup in September.
I still have to go through all of them, but post here if there are any shirts you think you'd definitely want, no matter the size, and I'll try to give you first shot if there are any. buy guys sizes here girly sizes here -------------------------------- List o' shirts, I'm posting as I go through them - there's a ton more. Noticeable flaws posted, there may be other small issues that aren't immediately seen. Note: all instances of measurements are estimates, I can take actual measurements upon request. Guys XS Aesthetic Truculency on threadless - I've yet to find anything wrong with it, but I'll keep looking. Guys Small Bedrest on threadless - hole about 3-4 inches long. No damage to design or rest of shirt, you could just sew up or patch the hole and it would kind of add to the story of the shirt, just tell people you were hit by a hammer. I Got Another Whale on threadless - There's about a dime-sized black splotchy stain in the hem area on the bottom of the shirt. Perfectly wearable. Guys Mediuim My Fantasy World on threadless tee, noticeable black marks around and on design. Still wearable, but it'll just look like you've got grease smudges on your shirt. Lab Partners on threadless tee has serious black smudges on and off the design. Also a .5cm hole along a black smudge away from the design. All I Need on threadless - took me a while to find anything wrong with it, but there is a small dark blue mark on the sleeve that isn't really noticeable. Guys Large Giraffes United Against Ceiling Fans on threadless tee - serious holes/tearing around shoulder seam. About an inch and a half of the design (to the right of "Blades") looks like it was printed on top of a wrinkle and some wear is showing to that area. 8-Bit Investigation on threadless tee - 2 to 3in box cutter slit between the top two windows. The actual printed design is completely fine, but the cut is inside of the printed area, if that makes sense. Also, I didn't know these said "32-Bit Investigation" as the title on the shirts. Loch Ness Imposter on threadless tee - some slight discoloration/wrinkling along two of the lighter tentacles and about a half-inch hole/rip in the same area, on the design. Living In Harmony on AA has mustardy-colored paint stains on a fair amount of the shirt, on the design, too, but it kind of looks cool. There are three small holes/slits away from the design, none bigger than half an inch. Blonde on Blonde on threadless - as with the other Blonde on Blonde, it was very difficult to find a flaw. There is a small, faint reddish mark about 1cm long on the back. I can't imagine most people ever noticing it on their own shirt, you'd never notice it on someone else. All-Conference Squirrel on threadless - some slight reddish-purplish discoloration, not on the design itself. Three holes - two in the lower third of the front, one in the shoulder-blade area of the back. No damage to the design. Guys XL Deforestation on threadless - Seems like your basic belt printing defects. Light printing/wear on a number of trees, mostly around the top back of the shirt and near the collar/seams. Cake Is Awesome on threadless - maybe 3in long box cutter slit that just barely seems to cut through the guitar-holding arm. Also a tiny bit of wear on the black in the middle of the mouth. I bet it could be transplanted without too much trouble if you take some care with that arm. The tear is barely noticeable but I'm sure it would get worse with wear and washing. Hey, Mr. Blue Sky on threadless tee - like the other Hey, Mr. Blue Sky, it was hard to find anything wrong with it. I still haven't found any flaws on the shirt or design, but the inside tag print is kind of wonky - looks like it was printed twice and the second printing is peeling off. Guys 2XL Peaceful Future on threadless tee - approx. 2in box cutter slit begins right under the collar around the center of shirt. 1/4 inch slit goes through to the back of shirt. No damage to design. Guys 3XL And How Are You Feeling Today? on threadless - I can't find anything other than your basic belt-printing inconsistencies, lack of total coverage around seams and collar. The whole print might be slightly off-register, as there's some blank space to one side, but I'm willing to bet that's just because of the large shirt size. In Case Of Zombies on threadless - there is a centimeter-long slit in the back of the shirt, where the printed tag is. Design and rest of shirt appear to be in good condition. Girly XS Chirp, Principle Curry on threadless - grey smudging on the design across much of the shirt, shows up more on the whites. Girly Small Squeege Clean on threadless - Seems like just the belt-printing imperfections that were standard with this shirt. Imperfect coverage, which is more noticeable around the collar and seams. Also, the title isn't printed on the shirt? Don't think I've seen that before. x2 Girly Medium Fake Pandas Have More Fun on AA - about a dime-sized (maybe smaller) yellow stain along what would be the side-seam if AA tees had side seams - it's outside of the design area. Fake Pandas Have More Fun on AA - some yellowing/discoloration (water stain?) along seam between sleeve and shirt, two small holes in front middle of collar, less than 1in cut below back collar. No damage to design area. All-Conference Squirrel on threadless - .5cm tear, shaped like a 7, about an inch above the squirrel's shadow and an inch to the right of the squirrel. Just barely noticeable that it goes through to the back, where there are maybe one or two stitches missing. No damage to the printed design. Girly Large Summertime Treat on threadless - about a quarter-inch hole on back of shirt, I don't see any damage to design. Girly XL Hey, Mr. Blue Sky on threadless tee - I thought there were black sharpie-like marks on the back, but turns out they're just weird wrinkling. Maybe three tiny spots missing ink where it should be, each the size of or smaller than a pen mark or "." Interloper From Beyond The Heavens on AA - some light grey smudges on and around some of the collar. I didn't notice it at first. There is a very small (less than .5cm?) bright pink spot on the design, about an inch from the edge of it. Ticket To Ride on threadless - about an inch-long pinkish mark just below the collar. Looks like makeup of some kind, I wonder if it would wash out. The Rebirth of Venus on threadless - there are two small cuts in the operating arm of the female doctor. One a little bigger than half an inch, the other about half a centimeter. Girly 2XL Blonde on Blonde on threadless - I had to spend a few minutes looking at this one to find anything... There are two inch-long hair-thin black marks on the design, which may be a black mark or maybe there was a hair on the design when they printed it there. And a pen-dot-sized mark of white or blue away from the design. It would be easier to find imperfections in many of my non-damaged tees, this shirt's in great shape.
the video's a little goofy and my short "it's about the future" bit made more sense in context, but... I'm on the internets! (this little clip isn't done by my production company, but a local guy is filming the making of our film and how the new site's going...)

It's time for this year's Threadless Meetup Box Social Fundraiser Contest (TMBSFC?)!
If you would love to come to the meetup in Chicago this September but lack the funds, here's a way you can get there! Our goal is to bring one international blogger and one stateside blogger to the meetup. There are no guarantees on how much money we'll be able to raise, but we're really hoping it will be enough for one of each. First preference, however, will go to the international winner. How to enter: STEP ONE: If you plan to enter, please send an email to threadfund@gmail.com including the following: Threadless name Real name Address Closest airport(s) How long you would like to stay in Chicago (September 11-15? 12-14?) Whether or not you can afford the hotel stay (should be $30-$50 a night) And lastly, if you could afford to pay for any part of the flight (for those of you with flights in the thousands of dollars, we unfortunately may not be able to raise enough money to fully send you over). Please send us those Step One emails as soon as you get the chance if you think you will enter... It'll give us an idea of how many people will be entering and how much these flights will cost. You'll have plenty of time for... STEP TWO: Tell us "What Threadless Means To Me and How Badly I Want To Meet All Of You and Glue Captions On Your Cats" in your submission. It can be in any creative form as long as it can be displayed on the internet. Video, essay (500 words or less, but we won't kick you if it's actually 504), slideshow, music... Just be creative, have fun, and don't be shy! You must send your submission to threadfund@gmail.com to be considered. Once your entry is received it will be delivered by carrier pigeons to the Threadfund Board of Trustees Committee of Judges That Decide Stuff With Gavels that will help to choose a winner. Also, keep an eye on your inbox for a possible questionnaire follow-up! The deadline for entry is August 4th at midnight threadless time. Sales will carry on for as long as we have stuff to sell (maybe a week or so later). How to help: Go to the main blog here or email threadfund@gmail.com with any questions. We're looking for all sorts of donations!

If you'd love to come to this year's September meetup in Chicago but can't afford it, this is your chance! Hopefully* we'll be able to raise enough money to bring one international blogger and one stateside blogger. Please refrain from entering if you can fully afford to make the trip on your own. Let's keep this fair! Alright, down to business... How to enter: Go to the sign-up blog for details on how to... you guessed it, sign up! How to help: - We need volunteers and donations. If you can spare some original artwork, poster prints, t-shirts, hand-made crafts, vintage stuff, or anything else, please email threadfund@gmail.com. I can list your items for auction on ebay, for sale on etsy or rethreaded, or you can sell your own stuff and donate the money to the threadless meetup fund. - We're also looking for at least a couple of people to be on the ThreadFund Board of Trustees Committee of Judges That Decide Stuff With Gavels - to help organize everything and sort out where the funds will go. If you join the committee, you cannot qualify to win the trip to Chicago. If interested, please send us an email. - Buy stuff! We need you to buy our stuff to raise the money. Don't hold back - there's some really awesome stuff going up for sale and all the money's going to giving one of our dearly beloved bloggers a pretty incredible experience. - Donate! If you don't really need or want anything we're selling, but want to contribute, you can donate money directly the fund. Send an email to threadfund@gmail for info on where to send money. - Also, just keep bumping this blog up and you'll be helping to spread the word! Not too hard, eh? To join in or if you have any questions, comments, ideas, or suggestions, send your emails to: threadfund@gmail.com. Prizes: Other than the main prize of getting to come to Chicago, the top three runners up will each receive a prize pack! If we have enough stuff to give, other runners up will receive prizes as well. And a Super Secret Surprise Pack [read: as yet undetermined] will go to the individual to raise the most $$$ for the fundraiser! The fine print: *No guarantees on how much we'll be able to raise, but our hope is that we can bring at least one international blogger and one from the states... But continuing tradition, first preference will go to the international winner. Unless you know something about tax status I don't (which you probably do, but still, I'm pretty sure on this one), donations and purchases will not be tax deductible. It's just good old-fashioned helping someone out, getting sweet stuff for yourself, and feeling good that you can be a part of it. |
