Thanks to Kelsi for getting this Bloggerraiser started and all of her Bloggerraising devotion and Canadian accent, thanks to Haya for always being there with good advice and a smile, and endless thank yous to everyone who makes this place the world's greatest community. We raised $2500! We're sending EIGHT people to the meetup in Chicago!!!! That's absolutely crazy! You are amazing. :D Congratulations everyone, all of you, for a most amazing Bloggerraising year. Let's keep it up & have an incredible run through the next year too! --------- Alright folks, here it is: The Official 2010 Bloggerraiser Contest!!! We know, we know... we say it all the time: Threadless is an amazing place. But, just for the record, we need you to say it again. In honour of Threadless' 10th anniversary this year, we've decided that we will have a theme of "10" for this contest. All entrants are encouraged to respond to the prompt in whichever way suits them best. If you want to do art, do art. If you want to write, then write. If you want to dance and sing and play the tuba while balancing on a skateboard, do that. Whatever. As long as it's sincere. The prompt is, "10 Ways Threadless Has Shaped Your Life" you could interpret this instead as 10 reasons to stick around at Threadless, or 10 reasons you love it here, or 10 things you've learned at Threadless, etc. - anything essentially talking about 10 & Threadless & you that shows your passion for this place and how awesome it is. All entries must be submitted digitally through email to threadless dot bloggerraiser at gmail dot com by the deadline of August 2nd. Please put BLOGGERRAISER ENTRY in the subject line of your email. In addition to your entry, please include the following: 1. Your Name 2. Where you are coming to Chicago from (which airport, bus stop, town) 3. Plane, train or automobile? (But seriously, plane or bus?) 4. The dates you are able to attend 5. How much is a flight from there to Chicago? 6. If you are able to pay for any part of your trip, how much? If you have any questions about your entry, the rules, or how it all works - just ask below or send an email! Once the deadline day has arrived, all the entries will be viewed by an esteemed panel of judges. Each judge will rank the entries and points will be awarded based on each individual judge's evaluation. Once all judges have submitted their scores, they will be totalled and the entrant with the highest collective score is the winner of the bloggerraiser. Depending on finances and locations of the winner, we hope to be able to send more than one individual... runners up will be notified if finances allow it. Good luck!! We look forward to seeing all the wonderful things you come up with! Who should enter? Whether you're in a position financially where you just can't make it to the meetup this year, or if you hadn't even dreamed you could ever make it - if you've got the weekend of September 10th free and really want to be hanging out with the Threadless community in Chicago but can't make it on your own, you should enter. What is the Bloggerraiser? The Bloggerraiser is a Threadless community-driven fundraiser to send members to the annual Threadless community meetup extravaganza in Chicago. This year's meetup is the weekend of September 10, 2010, with many people staying from Thursday the 9th until Monday the 13th. A bunch of extremely generous people donate money and goods, and purchase the donated items for sale for the Bloggerraiser so that we have the money to send people to Chicago. Check out some of the amazing stuff for sale here, and to donate money or goods to the Bloggerraiser, or for any questions, just send an email the way of threadless dot bloggerraiser at gmail dot com and we'll be happy to talk it over! Who are the judges? Can I be a judge? We don't know for sure if we will or will not need any more judges. The judges will include past winners, past judges, and some of the major contributors this year will be invited to judge. If you are interested in being a judge, send an email to threadless dot bloggerraiser at gmail dot com with "Judge" somewhere in the subject line and briefly tell us at least one of the qualities that would make you an excellent judge, or any prior experience as a judge, jury, executioner, or focus group member :P
