How to help:

- We need volunteers and donations. If you can spare some original artwork, poster prints, t-shirts, hand-made crafts, vintage stuff, or anything else, please email threadfund@gmail.com. I can list your items for auction on ebay, for sale on etsy or rethreaded, or you can sell your own stuff and donate the money to the threadless meetup fund.

- Buy stuff! We need you to buy our stuff to raise the money. Don't hold back - there's some really awesome stuff going up for sale and all the money's going to giving one of our dearly beloved bloggers a pretty incredible experience.

- Donate! If you don't really need or want anything we're selling, but want to contribute, you can donate money directly the fund. Send an email to threadfund@gmail for info on where to send money.

- Also, just keep bumping this blog up and you'll be helping to spread the word! Not too hard, eh?

Prizes:

Other than the main prize of getting to come to Chicago, the top three runners up will each receive a prize pack! If we have enough stuff to give, other runners up will receive prizes as well.

And a Super Secret Surprise Pack [read: as yet undetermined] will go to the individual to raise the most $$$ for the fundraiser!

The fine print:
*No guarantees on how much we'll be able to raise, but our hope is that we can bring at least one international blogger and one from the states... But continuing tradition, first preference will go to the international winner.

Unless you know something about tax status I don't (which you probably do, but still, I'm pretty sure on this one), donations and purchases will not be tax deductible. It's just good old-fashioned helping someone out, getting sweet stuff for yourself, and feeling good that you can be a part of it.

Wow I'm really glad this is becoming a yearly thing its pretty awesome.

I wish I could enter this time I really dont have the money and I'd really love to meet bloggers again but my living situations a little complicated right now so I'm probably going to have to hold of on entering.

Threadless tees would definitely be cool, I know they sold a bunch last time around and that'll probably be a big source of funds this year too. I'll be selling a bunch of mine.

maybe you can contact jared for the username/password for the etsy acct if you are selling stuff (unless you have a better way in mind).

last year there were 5 judges (again, contacting jared would be key as my memory is not sharp) and 5 contestants and it was probably the most difficult competition to vote on ever. although, having a theme really helped.

so, good luck to this year's judges! have fun potentially changing someone's life. :)

Wait, what does the competition entail or does that come later?

I think the only thing I can't afford is airfare, if there are shared rooms I can deal with that, but the total together kills me.

Either way, I have some sculpey stuff I did I can donate, if you think people will be interested.

I'm not sure a competition has been decided yet. Last year, it was creating something showing how much you really wanted to go or something like that. Angelito won with a really neato photo slideshow that spelled out her reason.

There will definitely be shared rooms. If we pack em tight, I think we can keep it $30-50/person per night. We'll make sure the winner at least gets a bed spot. ;-)

V1ctorya - the competition will come later, but now is the time to start thinking about it and figure out how much money you would need to be able to go. Last year I believe they only covered airfare, and that's probably the route we'll go, but if someone enters clearly stating that they can't afford the hotel room, it probably wouldn't be too much trouble to cover that. And awesome on the sculpey stuff, I think that'd be great.
