I'm almost done my mural (color pics!)

This is an update on my mural project! I'm almost done with the color, I still have some text to add and some minor details to take care of. See pics below!

I'm working on painting a mural at my work! The room is a memorial dedicated to a workmate who passed away due to cancer a couple of years ago. He was a really great guy and this mural is kind of a collage of things he enjoyed as well as characters and stories from his life.

I will! I still have to fill up all the space left around it and then I can start coloring. I'm trying to have it done by the new year.

Thanks guys! Mathijs I'm going to leave alot of the blue and brown showing through, so it will still hopefully keep a similar feel to it.

plus I'm not going to go crazy with color, I'm going to pick a couple of tones, probably the green from on the other wall and some oranges and stick to those.

I've been around Phil! haven't done much T-less stuff only because my computer and I don't get along well with each other lately. I've been loving paintbrushes and pens too much to get in the mood lately. That's awesome about the camera! YOu'll love it!

oh to answer your question noodlegirl, when I was doing color, sometime it was easier to paint over text and redo it instead of paint around it. So I'm planning on rewriting the "this outlest is actually a secret door to a magical world" text. The same with the tie, that gets writing on it too.

The coworkers are really loving it, especially since many of them knew and loved this guy like he was family. I knew him for a about a year and I really liked him, but many of my coworkers had worked with him for years. Most of the things pctured here are just based on stories they told me about him, so it's really special to them.

Is it acrylic? It looked great in black and white, but the paint is even better - it makes it look much more like a traditional mural.

it's actually just eggshell latex wall paint. I would have much preferred working with acrylics, but I thought it would be too expensive to get that much acrylic paint. It was bad enough just for the regular wall paint!
